ash doesn't come from the best family or background like other kids in the town that he grew up in. he lived with two abusive parents who hit and beat him and his older sister constantly. their anger mainly sprouted from drugs and they had a hard past as well, but that wasn't an excuse for what they did to their children.
when ash was fifteen years old his older sister ran, not to leave him behind, but to get help. and sure enough, that what they got. ash and his older sister, loren, went to live with their aunt and cousins, while their parents went to jail for drugs and child abuse.
however after living with his family for a while they noticed their was something off, he was sad and tired all the time, and he had little to no energy, despite him sleeping all day long. so they eventually discovered that he was suffering from depression after being in an abusive and toxic household for so long.
he currently takes antidepressants and goes to see a psychiatrist, even though he absolutely hates it. he's just trying to finish out the rest of high school so he can get his life together the way he wants it. he just wants to finally be happy for once in his life.
