Fallon's POV

"So you mean to tell me that Bates, I mean Bethany just decided to leave and come here based off of the supply craft?" Mark asked in bewilderment.

"We were always told that the supply craft was hundreds of thousands of miles away and every man who left ended up dead. But Bethany had always believed in everything she heard, and a couple kids in our neighborhood said that it was only 100 miles and that his dad made it there. I didn't believe him for a second, but Bethany always had. why she decided to faker her death is beyond me." Claire says bitterly.

I still have one question that has been nagging me since we got here, and it needs to be asked.

"Claire, are you going to try to leave?" I ask. Cory, Mark and I stare at the blonde, eagerly awaiting her response.

"No, not yet. I plan on making Beth- I mean Bates' life a living hell and make her pay for those seven years of torture I endured." Claire spat.

"But what about your brother, and that guy?" Cory asks.

"Lucas will take care of him, he's the mayor's son, but is there any way I can contact him, Lucas?" She asks.

I shake my head no, they might, but I don't want to give her false hope.

"It's better you don't anyways, if they think you are dead they won't come looking for you, but if you are alive they might start to search and end up being killed." Mark points out. Claire nods, but I can tell she is sad about it. Claire and Lucas must be close.

"Well you can stay in my room tonight Claire until they give you your own dorm house." I say. Claire gives me a small smile. She's still a little bitter about her calf injury, but her disliking for me pales in comparison for her hatred for Bates.

"That sounds good." Claire says in a distracted voice, her mind must be elsewhere. I bet she is plotting in her mind, 101 ways to make Bates life a living hell. And honestly that has been going through my head for a while now too.

"Well we are going to leave, gotta rest up, wonder if we'll have training tomorrow?" Cory asks as he an Mark stand up to go to their own houses.

"I hope so, cause I am ready for payback as early as possible." Claire says. I chuckle at her anticipation to cause someone pain, I hope that she gets over her slight grudge with me because we'd make excellent friends.

Cory and Mark leave, laughing as they stroll down the rows of houses.

"Claire, you're not still mad at me right?" I ask as I crawl into my bed, the exhaustion taking over me.

"I'd be willing to forgive if you got me a bed to sleep on." Claire says.

Oh right, a bed. I grudgingly climb out I my bed and walk over to the closet and pull out the spare mattress and throw it on the floor. I go back to the closet and grab a pillow and sheets. we have 2 sets of everything here. One for use and the other to use while the first is being cleaned.

"Here." I say, then I flop onto the bed, dreaming of revenge as my mind drifts off into blissful sleep.

-----------------------------------------

"Boo!" someone yells above me. My eyes dart open to see Claire's face right above mine. I push her away and shove a pillow over my face. Not a morning person.

"Get up!" Claire screams right by my ear. I push her away but she grabs my arm and yanks me onto the hard wood flooring. so much for a gentle awakening.

"Let's go!" she says as I stand up.

"Cory and Mark just stopped by and said that the elders wanted to see us, both of us!" She said.

"Is there training going on today?" I ask

"Nope. it was canceled" Claire said. she seemed sad about it, she'd have to wait another 24 hours to begging operation I hate Bethany/Bates.

Claire steps outside to lace up her shoes as I put on some clean clothing. it felt good to sleep in an actual be last night. No spiders there.

We walk out towards the Elders Hall where they stay and meet everyday. I know what I was called for, they ask for mission reports, Cory and Mark will be called for proofing later, if they haven't already been. Claire will be talked to because she was a prisoner we took, I'm surprised that they didn't ask for her last night, but with the whole "Bethany" thing, I bet you Bates pulled a few strings.

We approach the large red doors and I gently push them open. inside are the guards and a single desk at the back wall. Claire and I walk towards the desk, our footsteps echoing on the hard surfaced floor.

"Names?" the man asks us from behind the desk.

"Fallon C2319 and Claire, prisoner" I say. the man nods his head and we walk past him to the right to the next set of doors. the guard out front of the doors tells us to wait until we the elders call us in.

Claire turns to me.

"C 2345?" Se asks

"C2319, and it's our identification code. C for the housing unit and I still have no idea about the whole number thing." I tell her. she nods.

"Back at home I was just Claire, not letters or numbers after that." she laughs. after a few seconds I give a small laugh which earns us both strange looks from the guard.

I hope they don't kill Claire, or lock her up, because I think things are starting to smooth out.
