Leader's Log : Today is May 4th what would have been the day of my dance recital but now its the day I break out of my middle school. Wow!! I never thought I'd say that one. Now, that we have everything we need for our journey to Glen Burnie High School. We will be on our way. We need to move now because when Daniel and I went to check if anything had changed since the night before and went on our medicine run, four of the worst things that could have went wrong... went wrong!!! As Dan and I were about to leave for our run Donte rushed to remind us that we were low on ammo in our Glock 17's and that really came back to bite us in the ass. Dan and I were on the ground now and on the way to the nurse's office we realized some zombies in front of the door and the odd thing is that it looked like they were trying to get to something but no one had been in there since the day of the zombie attack back in February accept us. It didn't matter now what the bad side of that was that our clips were practically empty. I asked Dan still trying to catch my breathe from the run over here "How much you got left?" "Half a clip, you?" "About a quarter clip." I guess Dan could tell I was scared because he looked at me and said "Hey, its going to be okay." And I just looked at him and he knew I knew he was just saying that to cheer me up but it just got worse from the moment we turned the corner to face our enemies.

When we had finally got to the door we knew, we knew we were in trouble now, we had made a lot of noise on our way to our targeted area and we were going to pay for it weather or not that was with our lives was entirely up to how much ammo we had and that wasn't much. Dan and I had made it into the nurse's office and i knew we were both thinking the exact same thing "How in the hell were we getting back out of here?!?!?!" After a moment of catching our breath, I headed for the medicine cabinets and what I saw was the third scariest thing that had happen to us which was probably going to kill us faster than it could ever saved us... WE WERE OUT OF MEDICINE!!! Devasted I turned to face Daniel who was still holding his chest from the run we just had. I was almost in tears if not already crying he looked up at me and I finally spoke holding back my tears "Dan, I have some bad news for us." "What do you mean?" he said with the sound of fright in his voice. "We're out of meds Dan. Were all going to die in a matter of days if we dont get more." I said as I began to have that urge to cough my lungs up because I was trying to swallow my tears and it just wasn't working anymore. Daniel got to his feet and helped me up from the floor and said "Okay then.. Lets' get everyone and go." Thats when we heard it..... The sound of shattering glass!!! Once we had gotten up from the floor. We were covered in cuts and I had a large peice of glass stuck in my leg... When we realized there were zombies coming for us we rushed to climb the filing cabinet to get to the air ducts. Daniel had to push me through the air duct shaft to get himself through along with me.

We had finally made it back to base when Amara saw my leg saw my leg she took me to where we kept what meds we had left which I knew would not be enough to fix my leg. Luckily for me the cut on my leg wasn't as bad as i thought. Although I still couldn't run on it. We were getting out of here today!!!! Its was 12:00pm after Dan had Explained to the group that we were out of medicine. When I left Amara to clean up the excess bandages from her binding my leg i could tell she was frightened that we'd never make out but when i made it back to the group I told that we had to get ready to move and it took them a couple moments to comply but they knew we had to leave what was familiar or we were all going to die. We were crawling through the air ducts and we were almost to our destination when we heard the air ducts begin to buckle beneath us we began to move slower and slower and slower still. The air ducts creaked and cracked under our knees aas we crawled. We were so close to the 6th grade entrance that we decided to drop out of the air ducts right in front of the door, unfortunately for me I was the one obstacle the group would have to carry along. When everyone else had gotten down they relized that when i jumped they were going to have to catch me. Once we were all down we got to the door it was almost like we were afraid to open it, like we were afraid to see what our home had become in our absence. Daniel knew how much I longed to see home even if I knew it wouldn't actually be home.Daniel brought me to the front of the group and as we pushed open the door together we felt sun light for what felt like the first time in decades. We Breathed in the fresh afternoon air as if we had been under water with no oxygen tanks. It was the most beautiful thing I'd seen in years. I'll admit I was in tears. We were home free. We were on our way to a better place now.
