When the Universe Breaks- A Shred Squad Story

(1) Same Face

Ashlie's POV
I smiled as I signed the pieces of paper that the two girls infront of me had handed me. One had red hair, and wore a blue hoodie and jeans, while the other had tan skin, chocolate brown eyes. She also had a enderman hoodie tied around her waist, and she wore a shirt that read 'Be asymmetric', with brown hair in a ponytail. "Thanks Ashlie!" They squealed. "No problem, enjoy the rest of Pax!" I said, and they nodded, and trotted off excitedly. I was at Pax East with the others. It was our first time meeting up ALL together.

I looked at Jon, who stood beside me, smiling. "So, what do you want to do now?" I asked. "I don't know, should we go find the others?" He asked. We had all split up about 30 minutes ago. I pulled my watch out of my pocket, reading the time through the new crack that it had just been granted. That's when I remembered that the clock had stopped working when I had dropped it earlier."Oh, yeah.." I mumbled. I ran my fingers over the cracks for a moment, sighing. It was a copper pocket watch that had been passed down in my family for many decades.

I had been holding it earlier, but a loud cracking sound had startled me, causing me to drop the watch, cracking it. My mom won't be very happy when she finds out I cracked it, but there's nothing I could do now. I sighed, putting the watch back in my pocket and pulling out my phone, checking the time. "Yeah, I guess we should, It's getting kinda late." I said to him, slipping my phone back in my pocket. Jon nodded, "Okay, let's go find them." He said simply.

We started walking around, looking for any familiar faces. "There!" Jon pointed out, pointing forward. I followed his gaze, and saw Nick, Tommy, and Cory all walking together. Tommy was nudging Nick, laughing, as if he'd just told a joke, and I saw Cory facepalm. We ran over to them, "Hey guys!" I greeted as Jon and I joined them. "Oh, hey Ash!" Cory said. Nick smiled, "Hey, buddies." He greeted. "Where's Bri, Uni, and Dawn?" Cory asked, looking around. "I haven't seen them." Jon admitted. "Yeah, we haven't either." Nick said. "Well, let's go find them." Cory ordered.

We walked around a bit, but still didn't see them anywhere. "Where could they-" Tommy began, but was cut off by, "Hey! Guys!" We all looked over to see Bri running to meet us. "Oh, hey Bri!" Cory greeted. Bri ran up to us, a little out of breath, but she managed to ask, "Have you guys seen Uni or Dawn?" She asked. We all glanced at each other, "No, we haven't." I answered. "You lost them?" Cory questioned. Bri sighed, "We were all together, then they were just, gone." She explained. "Well, we better find that recipe for disaster!" Tommy joked.

We agreed to look for them, but stay together, so we wouldn't lose each other in the process of trying to find them. "Guys!" A familiar, frantic sounding, british voice called to us. We all turned to see Uni running towards us, along with Dawn, but they had someone else with them. The third person was wearing Uni's giraffe hoodie with the hood up, except the hoodie strings were pulled tightly, so the person's face was completely covered. The person stumbled as they ran blindly with Uni, who was holding tightly to their shoulder. "We have to show you guys something!" Dawn said more quietly.

"Guys, who's this!?" Bri asked. "We can't tell you here!" Uni whispered frantically. "Come." Dawn said, gesturing for us to follow him. Then, he, Uni, and the stranger in Uni's grasps all ran off. "Guys, wait!" Cory called, chasing them. We all looked at each other, before chasing them aswell. We ran for a few minutes, before Dawn quickly turned into a small area behind a large wall, where there were no people. We all turned to Uni and Dawn, "What's the meaning of this?" Bri asked, sounding annoyed.

"We found something.." Dawn said, blowing a tuft of his black hair with a neon blue streak out of his face. "And that is...?" Cory pressed. "Uni, love, can you please take this...Thing off me...?" The stranger suddenly spoke, and it made me shiver and how similar his voice was to Uni's. "Don't call me that!" Uni hissed and he yanked the hood backwards, pulling it off the strangers face. We all gasped as we saw their face. They were a splitting image of Uni, except their hair was dyed red instead of blue, and their skin was alot more tan than Uni's, and they had redder eyes.

"We found him running around, wreaking..." Uni ran an annoyed hand through his puffy, blue hair, "Havoc!" He spat. "Is that..." Bri trailed off. "Duni." Uni finished. "Uni, have you gone insane?" Cory questioned. "Like, honestly?" He asked. Uni gave him a dumbfounded look, along with Dawn. "Seriously, Cory?" He asked, gesturing towards Duni. "It's probably just a cosplayer that you just low-key kidnapped." Cory whisper-yelled. Then, he turned to Duni, "What's you're name?" He asked. "Duni." The boy answered. "No, like, real name." Cory pressed. "Duni...?" He seemed confused.

"Cory, I think you're confusing him." I said. "I think he's confusing us." Cory retorted. Tommy walked up to Duni, walking around him, as if studying him, while Duni shifted uncomfortably. Tommy then turned back to us, "Dudeee, there's totally a glitch in the matrix!" He exclaimed, glancing at Duni. "We need to take him back to our place." Uni said. "What!? We can't take that random stranger back to our place!" Cory objected. "Well, we certainly can't leave him here!" Uni argued back. "Awe, do you care about me, Uni?" Duni asked excitedly. "No, I'm only concerned that we have the same face, so if you kill someone, I'll be blamed for it." Uni rerorted, making Duni pout. "Let's just take him back." Dawn sighed.
