What is music?
To teenagers, its how we express ourselves.
The genre and the lyrics we listen to tell people who we are and what we feel.
They don't understand. They don't hear what we hear.
They call it racket. But it's not just noise.
What is poetry?
To teenagers, its how we let go. It's how we expose ourselves. It's how we free ourselves from our own prison.
But to society, it's what we do when we are depressed.
"Its just a rhythm and a beat."
But real poetry isn't a poem made to please people.
But rather written to please ourselves. To release our emotions, rhythm or not.
Screw all the labels. "Sonnet." "Stanza."
True poetry comes from the heart,
Not from steps from a book.
What is love?
Love is what we feel,
Even when we are told we can't.
Love is what we look for.
We feel it. We give it. We see it. We receive it.
Everyday. All the time.
It's always there. But what is it all?
Love. We express it by writing down how we feel.
It makes a poem.
We share it with a friend. They add a beat and a rhythm. Maybe even an instrument.
It makes music.
Think about it.
You read it forwards.
Link it backwards.
What is it?
Do you feel it now?
Do you see the truth?
What is it to you?
