She wore boxer shorts and an over-sized t-shirt that said 'Your Complete Mess' on it when she opened the door. He stood there with a small, innocent smile on his face. She had her earplugs in, listening to Rehab by Amy Whinehouse. She pulled them out, but a light beat continued to flow out of them. "Yes, darling?" She stuck her nose up in the air as her questioning gesture.

"Elena kicked me out." He lied. Luke didn't plan on informing her that she was the reason for him leaving. But she knew it anyways. She had a grand feeling she was the cause for the fight and him leaving. "Can I stay here for the night?"

"Of course, love. Come inside will you?" She left the door open for him to enter. He followed her into the cozy flat. She plugged her phone into a docking station and Rehab played louder. She found her rightful place on the counter and motioned for him to sit there too. "It was about me wasn't it? I don't even know why I'm asking, I know it was. I have that effect on couples, you know?" She said dabbing little black nail polish dots on her white toe nails. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be. I'm not the loving boyfriend anyways. She doesn't like me, I don't like her so we work." He replied simply.

"You deserve better." She frowned at her poorly done toes. "Or at least someone with a grade a personality." She jumped off the counter landing with a thump. There came a loud knock at the door, which was hard to hear because of the music. She opened the door and a petite little old man was scowling at her. "Why hello Mr. Umi. What brings you out so late?"

"You music. It too loud! Turn down." He demanded in his Japanese accent. She rolled her eyes as he ranted about her loud music and party habits. He saw Luke in the background and ranted about her numerous boyfriends. "You too wild."

"Darling, I'm quite busy. I'll turn down the music, but you must know by now, you'll hear me snoring through the walls. What's better the snoring or the amazing music?" She bit her lip.

"I give up, you wild." He threw his hand up in surrender and stormed down the hallway.

"He's a sad old thing. He has not a single idea how to have fun, but gosh he's adorable. He walks like a penguin." She smirked in Luke's direction with the penguin statement. His eyes lit up and she jumped up and down when she remembered she had a present for him. "I got it the other day, I was going to give it to you at the party but it was best not to." She handed him and small plush penguin from their zoo. He squeaked and squawked, oh and the penguin toy did too.

"This is so cute!" He sounded like a little girl with a puppy. "Thank you so much!" He had real problems. He thought he needed rehab for his love for penguins. "Elena would never buy me these."

"That's why I'm not Elena." She smiled and fell down onto her sofa.

It was two in the morning when they finally went to sleep. He slept on her sofa with the penguin in his arms. She laid on the floor curled around the coffee table. She had gotten up around eight to make a coffee. Well, run down the street before Luke woke up and get coffee from Starbucks to pour into the coffee pot. He enjoyed it and had no idea until when she told him weeks later. She took a shower and as a natural habit sang.

"Where are you? And I'm so sorry. I cannot sleep, I cannot dream tonight..." She continued the Blink-182 song before turning off the water and stepping out. She came out in black top that ended just above her belly button which exposed a small tattoo along her waist line. He knew she had one on the side of her head where her hair outlines by her ear. It was of Peter Pan, Wendy and those other two kids flying. The one on her waist was of five tally marks. He stared at it as she dried her hair with a towel in the doorway of the toilet and the living room. She curved her lips when she noticed. "Now darling, it's not nice to stare at a girl's waist. It makes them feel insecure." He chuckled at her words and stood up.

"How many tattoos do you have?" He asked.

"Five." She began to lift up the back of her shirt so he could see 'Let it be' in a fancy cursive. She then separated her index and middle fingers showing off dog prints. After that she pulled down the armpit sleeve of her shirt showing the words 'We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all. ~the breakfast club'. He smiled.

"I like that one." He pointed to her arm. She nodded her head and looked out the window. Her eyes widened as she saw the light fog that fell upon the city. It was a beautiful morning in her eyes. She wanted to run outside into the fog and be swallowed in it's cool vapor. The swirling wind all around her. Small drops of rain falling on her shoulders and dampening her hair. Her eyes closing as and spinning around feeling it in her soul.

She pushed away the thought and landed back into her living room. She looked back at him. He looked into her brown eyes. They were full of worry and disturbance.

"Darling, could you go? I need to be alone." She whimpered pathetically. Her mind was somewhere else. He didn't know. She didn't even know.
