He smirks at me and grabs my hand.
We walk out to the car and he opens my door for me. He's a keeper, I think to myself as I get into the car. He walks around the front and gets into the driver seat. He puts the keys in the ignition and backs out. I straighten out my skirt and sit there in the silence.
"So uh" I begin, "I'm super excited to go to this diner. I haven't been there in such a long time. It was always my mamma's favorite." I glance over at him. He stares straight at the road. I look back down at my skirt. I look out my window. I don't know what else to say and he's being awfully quiet. We should be approaching the diner anytime now, I recall that its not too far from my house. I fidget in my seat. I steal a peak at him again.
He tights his jaw. What's up with him?
(Destiny's POV)
11:25 PM.
I need to find Mellissa so I can leave. Now that I'm here I remember why I hated parties. The drugs. The Boys. The smell. Ugh, the smell. Why does it smell so bad in here? The music isn't bad though, I quite enjoy the music. I pass by the DJ when Im making my way through the crowd. I recognize him to be 'DJ Saltine'. A new up and coming DJ. He has one song out on the radio and its actually a pretty big success. How did Gabbi afford him?
I make my way to the kitchen and see Kat. "Hey" I say as I reach her. "Oh hey girl! Long time no see. How've you been?" she retorts. "I've been ok, How are you? Also, have you seen Mellissa?" I reply. "I'm good! I saw Mellissa earlier, she showed me her dress. Between you and me, I don't think it was a good color on her." She giggles and then continues, "But right after she showed me she walked towards the back yard." She finishes. "Ugh. Thanks." I say and then I start walking towards the back yard.
I find Mellissa laying on the ground by the pool completely passed out. You've got to be kidding me, I say aloud to myself. "Mellissa!" I shake her but she doesn't care. "Mellissa!" I yell again and shake her harder. "Leave me alone!" she yells at me. "I can't believe you Mellissa. You drag me to this party and then you completely ditch me and this is how I find you?" I'm furious. She begins to say something but I stop her. "No. No, Mellissa. Now I have to call my mom to pick me up because Im sure as hell you're drunk and I won't set foot in a car with you. Matter of fact, give me you keys." I say frustrated reaching my hand out. She hands me them with a blank look on her face. "Here" she spits and I grab them. I walk back to the kitchen.
"Hey Kat" I say more than a little over the edge. She looks over at me. "Yeah?" she says. "Take these" I say and place them into her hand. "Thank god you're smart enough to not drink at parties but Mellissa chose otherwise. Keep these and don't give them to Mellissa until she is sober tomorrow. No matter what." I say sternly and walk out of the kitchen before she can reply.
I unlock my phone to call my mom once I reach her door. "Hey sweetie, what's wrong" She answers. "Well, Mellissa is completely drunk and passed out and she was my ride home. I'd hate to make you come and pick me up but I have no choice." I say sadly. "It's totally fine. I'm just glad you made the smart choice of calling me. A lot of people would get in the car with a drunk person." she says back. "Thanks mom." I smile to myself. "I'll be there in about 15 minutes. I'll bring you Taco Bell too." She says and I feel that she's smiling too. "You're the best" I say and hang up.
(Alli's POV)
We passed the diner. I know we passed the diner. We would have made a left turn back there. I look over at him again for the first time in a while. He is expressionless. Cold. "Josh" I began... "Where are we going?"
