Ava looks at the mask in her hands. With all her hearts she wishes she didn't have to do this. The communicator on the foot of her bed beeps. She glances at it and sighs. It is time to meet the Shredder. With a heavy heart, she makes her way to the throne room.

Fear lies in the back of her mind. Before she opens the massive doors, she slips on the hated Foot mask. She quietly walks in and lines up with the rest. The Shredder is not happy today. He growls at his soldiers, clearly upset over the fact that they have been doing badly. Ava gulps, she knows what he is going to do. She has heard of this, but never witnessed it. Whenever the Foot were doing badly, Shredder would single one out and beat them. Often, the ones singled out did not live long after that.

'Don't panic, don't panic.' Ava repeats to herself, because she knows what her father did whenever he found out she had a panic attack. The Shredder walks around the room, striking fear into each Foot soldiers heart. With the mask on, no one knows she has her eyes squeezing tight. He lifts his steel covered arm and points. For a small moment of horror, Ava believes it her. But the soldier next to her fearfully steps forward. Ava shuts her eyes and tries to block out her teammate's cry.

After the ordeal, the Foot are sent to try and capture the turtles again. As if she was a machine, Ava picks up her sword and straps it to her back. 'I don't get it. What did they do to us?' She thinks as she patrols the rooftops. Suddenly she hears a whoosh. Her instincts kick in and she starts following the noise. The turtles! Ava curiously looks at them, having never seen them before. They seem to be walking around, not really doing anything. Ava sneaks around them, hearing bits and pieces of their conversation. Her brain is screaming at her to attack, but her heart knows better.

Ava is listening so carefully, she doesn't notice she had run out of building and had walked straight off. She briefly shrieks, her scream cut off by her loud fall on the fire escape. Her mask is torn off and her face is exposed, an easy target. The turtles instantly notice her. Ava gasps and stretches to reach her katana. One of the turtles, wearing red, tries to charge her, but she just barely flips out of the way.

"We can't hurt her yet,Raph." The obvious leader in blue says.

"Why not? She is a spy,and a Foot soldier!!! We should gut her right now!" Raph retorts back.

Ava's eyes widen at the mention of gutting her,and she gives in to her panicking side. Were they really going to kill her?

She starts trembling and whispers. "Please don't, I haven't lived yet."

"What did she say?" Pipes up a shorter one dressed in orange.

"Don't hurt me, I don't even want to be here." She says, biting her tongue as she realizes what she is going to say.

"How do we know she's not stalling?" A turtle clad in purple asks warily.

"Just get me away from here." She says, pure pain and desperation in her voice.

But the turtles are not the only ones who hear her plea.
