Late at Night
Ava
Ava sits quietly on the couch. This extremely long day has finally ended. She is just waiting for Raph now.
*Flashback*
"Ava, Raph's gonna watch you tonight." Leo said as he finished placing blankets on the couch.
"Only because I lost a bet." Raph grumbled under his breath.
Ava looked up at Leo, eyes filled with confusion.
"We just don't want you getting second thoughts." Leo said.
Ava felt a small pang in her heart as she realized they didn't trust her that much. But then again, she is supposed to be the enemy.
*Flashback Over*
Ava looks up, and sees Raph walking into the room with a bucket and a rag. Her instinct starts screaming into her head.
Ava feels herself shaking and her head swimming.
'Oh no no no no!!!!' She thinks as her knees sunk to the ground.
Her heart beats as if it is trying to pound its way out of her chest. She hyperventilates, gasping for breath. Panic's loud voice shouts in her head.
Raph
Raph walks into the room, grumbling. Why couldn't he have eaten 10 poptarts in 2 minutes? Stupid bets. He carried a bucket filled with medicine water Donnie had given him. It was supposed to help her scars and bruises heal.
'Poor kid.' He thinks.
It made him feel sick to know that someone did that to a 15 year old girl.
When his eyes fall on her, he sees her kneeling on the floor, fighting for breath. Without hesitation, he drops the bucket and runs to her. Placing his three fingered hands on her shoulder, he calms her down by repeating "Its ok." He knew to do this, because he could tell what a panic attack was when he saw one.
*Flashback*
Splinter ran to little Mikey, who was hyperventilating. Mikey's hands were placed on his head, and he was acting as if he couldn't see his family around him. He had just nearly fall into the sewer water, and seemed to still be in shock.
"Whas wrong wit Mikey?" Raph said in his childish voice, his usual attitude erased with worry.
Splinter did not answer, but kept trying to calm his youngest child.
Raph slowly walked over to his little brother and his hand on Mikey's shoulder.
"Is ok." He repeated, until Mikey fully calmed down and gave his big brother a smile.
*Flashback Over*
After Ava is breathing normally, Raph finally decides to question her. But just looking at her with his confused face brings her to explain.
Taking a deep breath, she began.
"Well, whenever I got a beating, my father would lock me in a cell. He would bring me a bucket of vineger and salt water, and force me to rub it on the marks. If I refused, I would get another beating and have to do it again. I guess, when I saw the bucket, I sorta panicked. I'm sorry."
Raph is a bit confused.
"Why are you apologizing?" He asked, his "eyebrows" knit together.
"I'm supposed to have trained out of it. It's not for ninjas." Ava says, studying the ground.
"To heck with that! Your father told you that, right?" He burst.
She nods.
"Well, he doesn't look like dad of the year, so forget it! Don't listen to anything he says!" He nearly yells.
Ava nods.
"Your better than that." Raph whispers, so she can't hear him.
Ok, before anyone thinks anything, no this will not be RaphxAva. No way. Nu-uh. Nope. I just wanted them to have a moment. Cleared up? Good :)
