To @TheBelieverFrom2003, here is the chapter I wrote into the night.
After an hour of doing nothing but talking with the turtles, Ava got bored.
"So what do you do around here?" She asks, as there is nothing to do.
"You shouldn't have said that, girly" Raph groans as Mikey grins broadly and grabs a box from underneath the couch.
Ava looks at Donnie.
"Did he just call me girly?" She says, a bit confused.
"Heads up!" Mikey says as he tosses her a controller, and she swiftly catches it. He turns on the old tv and pops in a disc. Ava leans over and catches a glimpse of the title. "Marvel vs Capcom"
"Have you played video games before?" Mikey asks as the game loads.
She only shook her head.
"Well, get ready for the time of your life!" He exclaims joyfully.
After explaining the controls, Ava and Mikey pick their characters.
And they begin. Ava is instantly a master. Her fingers jump over the control with a lightning speed. Mikey had actually planned to go easy on her, but now he is playing his best to keep up.
After 10 minutes, both are on their second player.
When both reach their last player, they have already played 35 minutes in a 5 minute game. Sweat is rolling down both their faces, and their fingers ache.
Finally, Ava sends one final kick that defeats Mikey. The word
"K.O." flash across the screen. Mikey's jaw drops and his
eyes have an empty look to them. Ava waves her hand in front
of his face, with no response.
"I think he is in mental shock." Leo comments.
Mikey blinks, then holds his hand up for a high five, which she accepts.
"You are a worthy opponent, Ava." He says with a mock bow.
"Thanks." Ava replies, looking down.
"For a little girl." He adds, ruffling her hair.
She pushes his hand away.
"I'm not." She informs him.
"But you're as cute as one." Mikey teases as he walks away.
Ava was glad she was not facing him, he would have seen her blushing again.
