As a kid, Mikey was frightened of bugs, one time Raph was totally annoyed with this and asked why he was afraid of bugs. Then Mikey was telling him about how bugs can give you sickness, and their mouths are pretty gross, they bite , and would one day probably... TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!! then after that statement Raph was affected by Mikey's fear virus. When they grew up to being teenagers Mikey's fear of bugs was long gone. However Raph's still remained...
