ACT I, CHAPTER TWO:
THE DEAL

it's been several weeks into summer and despite patrick's subtle warning, (y/n) hasn't seen any of the boys.

not that she was complaining or anything.

"(y/n), there's something on the porch for you!" the voice of her brother snaps her out of her daydreaming and she gets up with furrowed eyebrows.

once she's downstairs and on the porch, she grabs the box, not bothering to speak to her parents that are seated in the living room.

"who's it from?" her mother speaks, and the girl shrugs before heading straight into the backyard.

with eager eyes and shaking hands, she opens the cardboard box. her heart rate spikes as she sees the bloodied carcass of an animal in it, an uncomfortable chuckle escaping her lips when she sees a note buried right inside it's emptied stomach.

trying not to be phased by it, the (h/c) haired girl reaches into the box and gently pulls the note out.

though he wasn't wrong; (y/n) wasn't the type of person to turn anything down out of fear.

as she sighs out, she crumples the paper before throwing it across the fence. right after that, she heads inside, grabbing a shovel to bury the poor squirrel.

there was no doubt in her mind that patrick hockstetter was sick.

two-thirty comes way sooner than she expected, leaving her to groan as she settles on wearing some high-rise shorts and a tank top.
