( THE BOY IN THE BUBBLE )
ACT III, CHAPTER FIVE:
PUT DOWN THOSE BUBBLES

five months later!

"we're going to miss you, bill." ben sighs as he and the losers sit in a circle in the grass.

a peaceful silence over takes them as they all process the news they've just been informed about.

"we should throw a going away party!" beverly speaks up, desperate to lighten up the mood.

bill, with eyes full of adoration, immediately agrees to her suggestion.

"y-yeah that could be cuh-c-cool." a smile smile adorns his face, "we should celebrate i-in-instead of sitting around and being s-s-s—"

"he's right, we should enjoy the last few days we have with him." mike shrugs.

"so when can we have it? and will there be pop?" richie eagerly asks, causing the other losers to scoff.

ben chuckles, his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink as his and beverly's eyes meet.

"don't worry, eddie spaghetti! i'll protect you." the glasses clad tozier boy sneers, nudging the smaller wheezing boy.

eddie only rolls his eyes, grabbing his inhaler and taking a puff.

"so, saturday?" stanley raises an eyebrow directly towards ben.

the chubby boy hesitantly nods.

"i have to ask and make sure." he mumbles, eyes getting a bit wide when beverly intertwines their fingers.

she gives his hand a squeeze as she speaks.

"i'll talk to her, benny boy. it'll be fine."

"how are you feeling, rebel? school ends this friday, then you become an adult on saturday..." patrick trails off, his arm around the shorter girl's shoulder as they walk out of the woods and towards belch's car.

(y/n) shrugs, a small smile on her face.

"i'm excited, i guess."
