Megan's POV

Renee's smile went from ear to ear as her mother and father explained how proud they are of their little girl.

Her white dress flowed off the side of her chair and down he little steps leading to the platform and her hair was perfectly orientated atop her head, her make up bringing out her eyes and rosy red cheeks

"Now we'd like the maid of honour and best man to present their speeches"

Carter and I stood up and walked over to the podium placing our speeches on top of it

"Uh, hey guys" Carter started, smooth, I thought

"Um, well, as you know, my best friend Matt over there just got married to a girl so out of his league, you have no idea and I'm just really bloody proud of him to be honest" Carter said, laughing and looking at me hoping I had something to say that would reduce the level I awkwardness in the air.

"And hello everyone, I'm Megan and my best friend of about ten years got married before I did which is quite annoying and embarrassing since I'm older. Anyways, a few months ago, Renee came running through the doors of our apartment jumping up and down and screaming 'HE PROPOSED! HE PROPOSED!' and started laughing hysterically not believing what was happening before she literally passed out on the bed"

"Trust me, it was funny" Carter added

"And as I sat next to her as she slept, my mind just wandered back to our twelvie days when we thought we were cool and acted like we were sixteen or something and now here we are at her wedding reception which just makes me really happy and Renee, I am so glad to be the one standing right next to you as you get married to the boy of your dreams and let me just say, thank you for giving me the honour and this amazing opportunity, I love you so much nae oh my god, thankyou"

Everyone started clapping as Renee and I started crying happily because we've stuck together this long and being able to be there for eachother is just the best thing ever.

"Now I don't know how I'm gonna top that but I'll give it a shot" Carter started. "Once upon a time, there was a very good looking and charming young man named Carter Reynolds who had girls running after him because he was that funny guy that posted things on vine and youtube and put himself across as a total douche. Carter than met a little boy by the name of Matthew Espinosa who was also as crazy and stupid as he was. It was love at first sight to cut it short. Now, six or seven years later, Matt ran a way with a girl that everybody thought would leave him because she was way too pretty for him and got married and will probably have kids leaving Carter heartbroken and sad and..."

As Carter went on telling his idiotic story, I admired the way his face ad hands moved when he made a point, observed the way his eyes lit up when somebody would laugh at his jokes and thought about all the wonderful things they had done with eachother over the last few years which made me wonder if I was ever going to be the one in the gorgeous white dress sitting in the wife's chair with Carter looking down at me smiling because he was so happy with his beautiful wife.

"... And to conclude this utterly pointless and definitely written at the last minute speech, I'm going to do something that I have been planning to do for a while but didn't have the balls for it. Well, now I do and I'm not making anymore excuses"

Carter grabbed my hand and dragged me out into the middle of the dance floor bringing us into everyone's clear sight. He fiddled with something in his pocket before getting down on his knee before me and opening up a box uncovering the most beautiful ring I have ever seen in my life.

"Megan Victoria Logan will you do me the completed and utter pleasure of marrying me?" he asked with a big smile on his face and hope in his eyes

I coerced my mouth in shock and excitement as even more tears of happiness streamed down my cheeks hopefully not running my mascara.

"Yes, yes, yes, yes a thousand times yes!" I said as Carter got back up on his feet and slipped the gorgeous diamond ring on to my finger and embracing me in a passionate kiss

And as we kissed and hugged and laughed all I could think about was how lucky I am that all of my dreams came true
