Aurora and Steve spun each other across the dance floor, a blur of colors as Soft Cell sang of a tainted love. It didn't matter to them that the world was watching, they'd been practicing this routine for weeks. Steve spun her out of his arms, her dress, a flutter of silver and blue, flared out surrounding her in a whirlwind of magic.

"I didn't know you could dance like this!" Steve laughed when he pulled her in close. Their faces were so close and Aurora had never noticed just how much she liked his eyes until this moment. "Are you having fun?"

The date was more like a pity date if you asked Aurora. After she'd cried to her mother about not having a date, Steve offered to escort her. "Yeah, thank you for being my escort. I couldn't have done this without you,"

"I love this song," Steve blushed, the slow song played loud above them. "Would you like to dance with me?" he asked, raising a brow at his friend.

"You don't even have to ask," she smiled, swaying to the lyrics of Patti Austin's Baby, Come To Me. "Baby, come to me," Aurora sang along quietly as her head lay on his chest.

Steve watched the clock, bouncing his leg with every tick of the small red hand. Seventh hour couldn't end soon enough and when Hopper poked his head into the small classroom, Steve whipped his head around to meet his gaze. Excusing the young man from class was one of the nicest things he could do, Steve was a mess. He'd stayed up all hours of the night running around in the woods surrounding Hawkins just screaming Aurora's name.

"Did you find anything?" Steve asked, throwing his book into his locker. Straightening his jacket, he faced the older man. "Hop, come on man, you can't keep me in the dark like this,"

Hopper sighed, opening his fist to reveal the bracelet Aurora wore all the time. Dustin had given it to her as a gift the week their father died and she hadn't taken it off since. "This doesn't mean anything," Steve took the bracelet, gripping onto it. "She isn't dead, I know she's still alive and this bracelet means nothing right now,"

"Listen, kid, I want you to prepare yourself for the worst. Aurora is a smart girl but we don't know what kind of place she is in right now. Go home, get some rest. The best thing we can do for her is to make sure we have clear heads while trying to look in the places we wouldn't normally look," Steve nodded, putting the bracelet around his wrist.

Aurora cried out in agony as she fell back to the ground. The pain in her leg grew increasingly worse. It'd felt like an eternity and she didn't know just how long she'd been missing. The thought of her mother and Dustin searching for her was enough to make her constantly on the verge of tears. However, the thought of Steve looking everywhere for her kept her crawling across the damp forest floors. "Baby, come to me," she choked out, using a tree to pull herself up right.
