"Hey, you!"

I hear a shout. I'm on my way to the changing rooms, and although I despise PE, I am more eager than ever to get there.

"Hey, nerd!"

I hear the shouts again. They're the most recognisable shouts, the most noticeable and identifiable, they were the shouts of...the populars. The girls who are constantly taking selfies with ridiculous pouts and advertising themselves to thousands on social networking, the ones who disrupt every lesson of algebra which could get us extra high lessons. You'd think, considering I'm top set and they are too, that they'd have a bit of a brain; well, the sad truth is, they do, but it's extremely narcissistic. And also, I'm sure they didn't 'wake up like this' with thick eyeliner, heavy mascara and tons of foundation that just emphasises their spots, versus hides them. 50% of my friends, i.e Elodie because Ari was busy getting past a level in Angry Birds, agree that no girl wakes up naturally with makeup on. Unless that makeup counts as spots that have popped up over night. I finally decide to turn around.

"Finally. What are you, an old lady?" Melanie, the leader of the group, sneered. The rest of the girls laughed, and I blushed.

"What do you want now, Melanie Alensbury?"

"I was just wondering..." She twirled her hair around her fingers as if to be cute, but her face was furious. "Why were you kissing my boyfriend?"

"What?"

"You know. Just Austin Taute."

She crosses her arms, and her minions repeat.

"He's not your boyfriend, and I have no interest-"

Melanie is clearly shocked. I'm sorry, but, Austin Taute is not your boyfriend. You must be daydreaming, because, as far as most of year eight are concerned, Austin never even talks to you. People are just to scared to stand up to you and tell you the truth.

"You BITCH!"

Some people stare and some quietly carry on walking past; I feel my blood flooding into my cheeks as almost everyone opts for the second option.

"I'm..." I almost can't speak. My throat feels tight. "I'm sorry you're such a spastic retard that you can't face the flipping truth about your social life."

As the bell goes, I scurry off to my next lesson, feeling everyone staring behind me.
