kunpimook dug straight into his noodles. yugyeom couldn't help but stare at his blonde hair, bouncing as he laughed at some dumb joke jackson made.

"yugyeom, have you gotten your textbooks for school yet?" youngjae's mother asked.

"i, uh, haven't quite gotten around to getting all of them yet, i suppose."

kunpimook slid his hand on top of yugyeom's thigh, gently caressing it with his thumb.

yugyeom glanced over, kunpimook giving him a reassuring glance. "thank you," he mouthed to kunpimook. he returned a nod and went back to devouring his noodles.

yugyeom was so content. he had a new friend that happened to be super hot, he was going to a really good school this year, and all of his friends, including the one he had just made, would be there to enjoy it with him.

"thanks a lot, you guys."

everyone stared at yugyeom like he was crazy. "for what?" jackson asked. "just, for being here. i don't really know how i would live without you making my life exciting," he paused, "mrs. choi, this dinner is amazing. thank you so much."

yugyeom saw a small, blushing smile creep across youngjae's mother's face. "anytime, dear. anytime."

"kunpimook, do you want me to, um, walk you home?"

"yeah, thanks. dinner was really great, mrs. choi! thanks for inviting us, youngjae."

"and it was nice to see you guys again, too!" he said to mark and jackson.

yugyeom quietly closed the door behind them. "why were you so polite to them?"

"i'm a nice person," kunpimook whined.

"i'm glad i met you," yugyeom said, and intertwined kunpimook's hand with his own. "let's get home."
