So sorry this took so long! I wasn't very inspired to write lately, though you think I would be because this is the end. Well, almost, there is still an Epilogue to tie up a last few things!
Anyway, I hope you like this, comment & vote, tell me what you think!:)

Chapter 30
Happy
The following afternoon we were packing up to leave. While packing I was trying to get myself ready to finally talk to this Tom guy. I felt stupid for caring so much. It was done in the past, my mom's past. And my mom obviously screwed up a lot of things for everyone because of her panicked decisions. I felt guilty thinking this, but it was true. She has no valid reason for cheating on my dad, there is never an excuse for cheating.
It was weird excepting my mom wasn't perfect.
"Are you ready?" Sam asked, peaking his head into my room.
"Yeah," I said.
I didn't really want to leave yet to tell you the truth. This weekend was lovely, it was great to get away from reality for a little while. And it was great to get away with Sam, it was better than great. And meeting Pam made me feel like I had something like a mother for awhile. So I didn’t want to leave.
But all great things come to an end.
And I'm sure my dad misses me, I miss him. He must have had a lonely weekend.
Sam and I packed up the car with our things and said our goodbyes to Pam.
"You come back again soon, Quinn," she said to me.
"I will," I said. "Well, if Sam agrees to it…"
Sam laughed. "Of course not," he joked.

We pulled up to the Fleet Farm and I took a deep breath, getting ready for whatever was to come. I picked up my purse and looked over at Sam, who was sitting still, watching me.
"I'll be right back," I told him.
He rolled his eyes at me, "Oh please, I'm coming with you."
"Sam-" but he wasn't listening, he opened up his door and got out before I even did.
I knew it was pointless to argue this one, he really wanted to be there for me, so I decided to let him for once. We walked together towards the Fleet Farm, my heart tightening. Sam reached over and grabbed my hand, and when I looked down at our intertwined hands I realized that I could do this. That no matter the outcome, everything is going to be okay. Because if anything, I have Sam here, by my side.
Once inside I scanned the area of places to check out and there was no sign of him. I squeezed Sam's hand nervously. I really wanted to see him, and if he wasn't here I promised to not go looking for him again. I lead Sam further into the store and soon enough we were going up and down isles, on the look-out for Tom.
After twenty minutes there was still no sign of him. And then I lost hope.
Sam shrugged, looking down at me, "I don't think he's working right now. Maybe we should just give up."
