Its been 3 months since my father joined the military and he sadly found out about my mother cheating on him through a friend of his being friends with the guy she slept with, which I knew that my dad would eventually find out that my mom was cheating.

I was standing in front of my locker at school while I waited for Dylan when I seen Samantha hugging his neck...I wondered why she would be doing that but I didn't stick around to find out, I walked out of the school and headed home as fast as I could...

I walked up to my room and sat on my bed then pulled my knees up to my chest and rested my head on my knees while I began wondering why Dylan would allow Samantha to hug him. I didn't sleep much because the thought of Samantha ruining the only chance I had at even having a friend kept me tossing and turning all night.

The next morning came quickly, I got dressed and ready for school before I left home...I quickly threw on a outfit and headed down the stairs to eat breakfast.

Lily: good morning Paige.

Paige: morning mom...what did you make for breakfast?

Lily: there are a few pancakes in the toaster oven, I wasn't sure when you would be down and I didn't want them to get cold...

Paige: okay thanks mom...

I watched as she walked out of the kitchen after she gave me a slight smile, I noticed that she looked upset and I knew why she was, I just hoped that she would get over it quickly...I placed the pancakes in a bag and placed in my bag before I left

Paige: bye mom I will see you later.

Lily: goodbye Paige, I love you

I shut the door and walked to school, after I got there I seen Dylan standing in front of Samantha with a single flower in his hand as he handed it to her, I continued watching them when I noticed that she looked over at me so I looked away and pretended that I was watching them but I'm sure that she seen me staring at them both and she walked over towards me as I was getting my books out of my locker and she slammed the locker door on my hand...

Samantha: oops I'm so sorry freak show, I didn't mean to do that...

She immediately started laughing after saying that and I seen Dylan walk over with a concerned look on his face but I walked to the nurse's station with tears running down my face, I was pretty sure my fingers were broke thanks to Samantha...

Nurse: hey, what do you need help with?

Paige: its my hand, I think my fingers are broke, I accidentally closed my locker on them...

Nurse: okay let's have a look at them, try to bend the ones you think are broke

I did what she suggested and my fingers wouldn't move, by this point they were turning a purple color and going numb.

Nurse: that's not good I'm afraid you will have to go to the hospital and get it looked at and everything else, so sit here and I will call an ambulance to pick you up...

I waited around for 30 minutes and finally seen an EMT driver walking into the nurse's station...after I was discharged from the hospital I headed home and seen a bunch of people standing on the front lawn with a few people coming out of the house with a black bag on a hospital gurney, I was about to head over to see what was going on when I was stopped by a cop.

Cop: hold on there little lady, I can't let you go any further...

Paige: but this is my home, what happened?

Cop: the woman who lived here shot herself and it doesn't look good in there kid, I'm sorry but I don't know much...

I stood there trying to process what I just heard when they people walked by with the black bag, I stopped them and quickly unzipped it and seen my mom laying there, I covered my mouth and felt someone pull me towards them while they held me close to them, I stood there sobbing on their chest after I seen my mother...
