Loneliness is an intimate feeling.

It's isolation in a group.

It's watching as others are loving each other while you are just sitting there, alone.

It's making up excuses to leave.

It's hoping bad things happen so that you can disappear from a situation.

It's wanting more but never so much that you distract other people.

It's wishing that you could change the past.

It's holding onto it so tightly that it consumes you. That it is all you think about.

Alternate timelines, alternate ideas, alternate ways to change your future even though you can't.

Suffocating.

Intoxicating.

Unbearable.

Addictive.

We fall into loneliness and let it envelope us.

Because there is nothing more comfortable than our own sadness.
