I was so excited for our first day of school! I even woke Lucinda up early, to her dismay. "Lucinda! Wake up! It's almost 6:30!" I exclaimed shaking her, similar to how a little kid would wake up their parents. "Luke, school doesn't start until 8:00, what the hell?" She replied. "Well, I thought maybe we should have a good first impression, since, you know, it's our first day!!! " I told her, smiling. "Well, first of all, we can't make much of an impression since we are literally homeless. And we have to wear a hood all day, and our guard is at its highest point, and-" she would have continued to rant, but I interrupted her. "Well, I could at least do your hair," I said, twirling a strand around my finger. " and I guess we could wear some of our work clothes, since they aren't as ripped, " I said. "Speak for yourself."

After an hour, we had gotten changed and I did Lucinda's hair in a side ponytail, with a small braid in it. She ended up taming my hair a little, so it wasn't sticking out everywhere. "Well, I guess we should go ahead and go," Lucinda said sleepily. "If you want to make a good impression, coming early might help that," she added, seeing my confused face. "Oh, yeah, I guess that would work," I said and we headed off. When we got there, we noticed that there were already people there. "Lucinda," I whispered, "not all of the blood here his human." " I know. There's the smallest bit if cat demon, it's not ours, and... Hunter. Let's just hope we don't get on their bad side, " she replied, a slightly frightened look etched onto her face.

It took us a little while, but when we finally found out homeroom classroom, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared. "Oh, are you the new kids?" The teacher asked. " Lucinda nodded. "Yeah." " Well, I'm Mr. Choi, why don't you introduce yourselves?" We nodded. I began, "I'm Luke Feline, I'm the younger twin, I have adhd and I am very gay." I was smiling at the last part and everyone laughed. I barely heard it though, for my eyes locked in a jet-black haired boy in the front. "I'm Lucinda Feline, I have adhd and dyslexia, and a fire killed our parents when we were Seven," Lucinda said. I had to nudge her side with my elbow to make sure she didn't start talking about the whole cat demon thing. "Alright then, why don't you two go and sit by Nicholas in the back. Nick, could you raise your hand?" A boy in the back with curly red hair raised his hand. He was in the corner next to the window, there were two seats to the left of him. Well, it was his right, but still. We walked over to him, and I practically forced Lucinda to sit next to him.

Lunch was kind of fun. Nicholas gave us a tour of the school so we wouldn't get lost. "I take it you two aren't going to eat?" He asked. We shook our heads. We couldn't really afford school lunch and we didn't bring anything. "Yeah. So, I heard you humming during class. 'Another Empty Bottle'?" He asked. Luce nodded. "Hey, can you guys get closer?" I asked. They did. "Nicholas, Lucinda, I want us all to lift our hoods when I count to three. Okay?" Lucinda nodded. Nicholas didn't. "I don't think that's a very good idea..." He said. "It'll be fine. You don't have anything to hide," I said, and he reluctantly agreed. "Okay, 1, 2, 3!" The three of us lifted out hoods, and it revealed three pairs of cat ears. We all quickly out them back on, and I smiled. "I knew it! The smell of demon blood gets stronger when I'm around you," I whispered. "Yeah," Nicholas and Lucinda said.

"Okay, nickname time. First of all, I want to hear Lucinda sing, " he said. Luce sang a little bit of 'For the Love of a Daughter'. "Yep. You are going to be Demi. Luke, you are going to be Nico, and you guys can make one for me. " Lucinda had an evil smirk on her face I knew too well. "You are going to be Will," she said, and she ran into the lunchroom before he could register what she said. " Hey, come back here you little -" I couldn't hear the rest since Nicholas started running too. I quickly followed them, to find Lucinda talking to a girl. Wait, no, the girl was talking to Lucinda. I walked closer. "What's with your eye? You look ridiculous, there's no way you aren't faking that you lost your eye. If you want attention, you might as well just kill yourself!" She said. " Hey! Don't talk to my sister like that! " I said. My injuries didn't even hurt anymore. "So, what's with you two? Do you really want attention so bad you put bandages all over you?" She asked. By now everyone in the lunchroom was quiet. The girl grabbed Lucinda's elbow where one of the men stabbed her. "Hey! What the hell?!" Luce cried out. "That actually hurt? Do you live on the street or something?" The girl asked. " Yes! " Lucinda covered her mouth. I put my hand on my face. "Amber, come on, we shouldn't be hanging around people like this," a boy that I recognized as the boy with the black hair from earlier said. "Hmph. Yeah, you're right. Let's go."

We went over to a corner. " I'm so so so so so sorry, Luke, " Lucinda said, her head on her arms, with her arms on her knees. "Luce, it's okay, it's not like it's the end of the world," I said with my hand on her head. "No, Luke you don't understand. When I ran into her, I smelled hunter blood! It was so strong..." She whispered, looking up a little. "Okay, we only have a couple of classes left today, we'll be alright. We just have to make sure she doesn't find out," Nicholas said. His attempt apparently helped her calm down, I could hear her crying soften. "O-okay..."
