Hayden's POV
I took another one down holding the baseball bat closer to myself, my grip got tighter on the handle. My eyes scouted the whole area trying to find Jade, hoping that she was waiting for me, hoping that she was safe from all of this chaos.
Their howls filled the air, the full red moon more defined than ever. A hardened grasp was on my forearm as Lena clenched her stomach and fell to the ground.
"Lena! what happened are you okay?" She shook her head and her eyes were glossy from the sudden pain. The wind was knocked out of me as a pale brown wolf sat on top of me, drool dripping from the sharp teeth in his mouth. I could sense the anger he felt as his teeth were close to gnawing at me. His weight lightened as he soon got off of me and curled up next to Lena.
She backed up with fear then stopped as he began to lay his head on her lap, letting Lena know that he would never hurt her. She gasped in shock gripping on the tanned wolf's fur. It was the same thing all over again, the same thing that happened to Diana. I needed to find Monica or Blake and fast before something really bad happens.
I stood up and wiped off my jeans sprinting in a direction I never went before. Bodies were everywhere and they continued to drop every few seconds.
"Aiden behind you!" Daniel yelled as Aiden ducked. Daniel slit the throat of the dog that was on the verge of hurting his friend. I ran to them and helped Aiden get onto his feet while Daniel looked around.
"Where's Blake?!?" I yelled, they both pointed to another brown wolf who had red stains all over his snout.
"That's Cole...Blake's wolf." I shook my head and groaned with fear. Not another wolf.
"I'm so dead." I sprinted to Cole and slid beside him, smashing another head to the pulp. I was met with bright blue eyes and soon after a lick on my cheek.
"Woah! Calm down Cole, we are just friends, remember Monica?" I joked around scratching the back of his head.
"I think Lena is in trouble. What should we do?" He raised his head up and searched for her then looked up at the sky. Cole closed his eyes and I tilted my head with confusion.
"What's wrong?"
"Hey, Cole here. Don't get near her! She is going through her heat, leave her with James." I heard in my head. I fell on my butt and stared at him without blinking.
"Wha- how wait a minute how- how did you do that?" He snorted and ran off.
My heart started to race faster as more of these...monsters kept pouring in. Not once stopping. It seriously felt like they were cloning themselves. Alright, here we go again.
The darkness made it hard for me to see where they all came from, causing me to swing in any direction.
I'm seriously going to need a drink after this.
"Oh crap!" I was soon dragged onto the floor, busting my jaw in the process. My glasses cracked showing four of the same thing, making me completely motion sick. My jeans ripped near my ankle causing the poor old wolf to slip. I threw my glasses off and was completely blind, seeing blobs of color surrounding me.
"Oh, my shit." I moaned out, blinking rapidly. My side cramped up, the feeling of my stitches coming loose. The red consistency soaked through my white shirt.
I saw someone running up to me and I was ready to swing at whoever came in my way. My fist swung and I missed completely.
"Wait! Wait! It's Monica!" She grasped my hand and pulled me back to the house, or well what was left of it. I had a hard time balancing, my feet tripping over each other.
