There was something different about this couple. And the more I talked to them, the more I saw that. The more we talked, the more I realized this wasn't their first time doing business like this.

I grinned and eyed the specimens they'd placed on the table in front of me. "So, tell me about these.."

The woman nodded "of course" she began "well, first of all, they all real. All 4 of them are from living, breathing humans..."

"Well, they were" the man cut in, causing them both to laugh.

I can't explain why, but that gave me an uneasy feeling that I couldn't explain.

"Oh, so these are from humans who were once living." I began, my eyes scanning the jars. "Do you know what happened to them?" I questioned.

The man nodded, sighing as he shook his head "they were in a horrible car accident and by the time the paramedics got to them, they had all passed."

I bit nervously at my lower lip. "Damn. That sucks." I shook my head "so, they were just like laying there for a couple days till someone found them?" I asked.

They nodded. "Yes, it's a really tragic, sad accident. The families of the victims wanted nothing to do with them, so the hospital didn't know what to do with the organs. So, we swept in and offered them a price they couldn't refuse." She said proudly.

I nodded. "So, how much were you looking to get?" I asked.

"Well, we haven't really settled on a price. We figured we'd let you see them and go from there." The man answered.

I nodded, thinking "I'll give you $500.00 for all 4" I offered.

The man and woman looked at each other, smiling slightly before looking back at me. "That sounds good to us."

I grabbed my book and wrote them out a receipt, having them sign a waiver as well. They signed it without question or hesitation and I opened the cash register and handed the woman 5, one hundred dollar bills.

"Three, four, five hundred" I said.

"Well Mr. Balz it was a pleasure doing business with you." They said as they got up and started toward the door.

"Of course and if you get anything else you think I might be interested in, feel free to call me." I said.

"Will do." They replied as they hurried out the door.

Although I found the entire encounter odd, I was pleased with my purchase, well, purchases.

I grabbed two of the jars and sat them on the table as you first walk in the store. Once they were settled, I took the other two and placed them next to those.

Little did I know that wouldn't be the last time I saw that couple. They would soon be calling me with yet another odd find.

I smiled when I noticed the time on my watch. Quitting time. I turned the lights all off, made sure the doors and windows were all locked and stepped outside.

I jumped in my car and headed to my house. Tomorrow would prove to be just as strange as today.....
