Have you ever been scared? I'm not talking monsters under your bed scared, I mean scared if your family are dead or alive scared. Well, that's where I am now. Absolutely terrified that when I do find my brothers, or hear something it's going to be bad news.
Craig has tried to keep me positive, but I think even he is starting to doubt things. He's trying his best to try and keep everyone's spirits up, and for a couple of days it worked. It's been almost 2 weeks now. Someone, somewhere knows what's up but won't come forward and tell us.
It's funny, even if they're dead, I just want to know. I want to know what's happened so I can try and pick up the pieces and get on with my life.
I've been to all their houses, and they all look the same. Untouched. The same way they left them when they started this past tour.
I was beginning to lose my shit, and it didn't help that that one couple kept trying to call me day after day. I know what they want. They want me to look at something else they're trying to sell. Right now though, that's the furthest thing from my mind.
I could feel my phone vibrating in my pocket and I pulled it out, seeing the same number flashing on my screen. I sighed and shook my head.
"I'm not answering, please leave me alone." I said at the phone before setting it down on the table in front of me.
A few minutes later it rang again and that same number showed up once more.
"Dude, obviously they're not gonna give up. Might as well answer them." Craig said, taking a seat next to me.
I shrugged and hit the talk button. "Yeah?" I said.
"Josh, it's Trina again. How are you?" She asked.
I couldn't explain it, but I got this creepy feeling the minute I heard her voice.
"I mean, I've been better. Some of my family have went missing and me and a friend are trying to find them. So, this is going to have to wait until things settle down here. I don't have the strength to think about anything else." I replied.
"Oh, well, I think I have something you're really going to wanna see." She started, laughing "really want to see this. You should meet me at my house. You can bring your friend with you." She added.
"Didn't you hear what I said? I can't do anything right now. I have to find these people. They've been missing for 2 weeks. It's not like them. I'm worried as hell and right now, that's the only fucking thing I care about. So, unless you know where they're at, I'm not interested." I said, going to hang up when I heard a voice on the other end.
"I might know more than you think....Come to 1234 Innes Ave." She said before hanging up the phone.
I turned to Craig who looked just as scared as I did. "Should we go? I don't know if we can trust her." I started, "These are people who have sold me human hearts and skulls. Who knows what they have now."
Craig raised an eyebrow. "Where did they get human hearts and skulls?"
"Apparently there was a bad wreck and the people inside didn't make it." I said.
Craig bit at his lower lip "So, they just up and took these things? How does one go about getting these kind of things anyway?" He asked.
"I think they went to the morgue. And if the victim's didn't have any family, someone would be able to get their hands on such items." I said, shrugging. Honestly, I didn't know if that was true or not. I hadn't really given it much thought until now.
"It just don't make much sense to me...." He shrugged "Yeah, we should go. Just on the off chance they really do know something. Afterall, someone has to know something, right?" he asked.
I nodded and got up, heading to the door. "Alright, let's go." I said.
The drive to the house was made in almost complete silence. I looked at the address I'd written down and stopped in front of an old, run down house.
"This can't be the place." Craig said, his eyes wide.
"This is what address she gave me." I added, handing Craig the piece of paper.
"Yeah, it seems this is the right place." He said, unbuckling his seatbelt and opening his door. He stepped outside and walked around to the front of the car, waiting for me.
I could tell he was just as creeped out as me about the whole situation.
We walked slowly to the door, and the feeling I had hit me again, only this time it hit me like a ton of bricks. Something about this wasn't right. Something bad had happened or was going to happen. I just knew it.
I took a deep breath and knocked on the door, moments later the door opened and Trina was standing on the other side, grinning at the two of us.
"Come right in, gentlemen. Come in and make yourself at home. We're going to be here awhile." She said with a smirk as she closed the door behind us.
