— CHARITY'S POV

LATER EBONY CALLED and informed me that hunter wouldn't be able to make our starbucks date because he had to take his sister to her ballet lesson. it turned out that hunter was already sixteen and had his drivers license.

as the pageant grew closer i became more and more nervous. tomorrow i was going with romeo and ebony to go pick up our outfits and to get our nails done since the pageant was the day after.

ebony and i had just decided to got on a starbucks date by ourselves and to get a raindate with hunter. i was still surprised about what happened at the mall today, although it has happened once before.

i drifted out of my thoughts and grabbed my phone out of my bedroom before entering the living room area once again.

blake walks out of his room with his brows raised. " hey chari, so what did you and ebony do at the mall?"

i look over at him and laugh. "um well what do you think we did? we shopped obviously."

he raised a hand to shove his hair out of his face. "okay well, i was just wondering because we got a call from someone named, oh what was it? oh ya, romeo."

"romeo called?" i asked with a shocked expression. i hadn't thought of romeo since this morning, but i was kinda happy to hear that he was probably thinking of me.

"yeah he said something about he'll meet you tomorrow at a local starbucks or something before you and ebony go get your dresses." he replied while plopping down beside me on the couch.

"oh okay. what did you tell him?"

"i told him that you would meet him there because i assumed that you would say yes to it." he shrugged and pulled out his phone before starting to type vigorously.

"oh okay, so who you texting blakey?" i giggled and looked over his shoulder only to see him quickly move his phone out of my view.

"oh no one that you should be concerned about." his voice was filled with annoyance and humor.

i chuckled at his attempt to be subtle about this even though i could clearly see that he was texting a girl. "c'mon tell me please." i pleaded and blinked a few times with a puppy dog face.
