(Sorry for any errors, had to type this chapter on my phone yet again.)

CHAPTER 5:

Noah and I hadn't talked since he'd said that he could use someone to listen to him.

Mostly because directly after the words had left his mouth, people started filing into the main part of the church where the funeral would be held.

Noah had set off to a seat towards the front while I held back a bit and sat closer to the back.

For the rest of the ceremony, the priest recited a long speech about Austin. From what he'd said, I'd learned that Austin was very involved and dedicated to his church and attended every Sunday and Wednesday to help out.

The ceremony ended quicker than I thought it would. Austin's dad had went up to the front to say a couple words, but that was about it.

Austin had been cremated so there was no casket.

I walked slowly amidst the people filing out of the church. I spotted a bench to sit on while I would wait for my mom to pick me up and quickly made my way towards it. Sitting down, I watched as people made their way towards their cars.

Neither Noah or Austin's family were anywhere in sight.

I had texted my mom to pick me up and I had probably been waiting on this bench for about 15 minutes now.

My mind attempted to veer off everything that had happened, but Austin's family, his little sister, his friends, Noah... all their faces were stuck in my mind. What happened with Sydney made me feel guilty and before I realized what I was doing, I was running that horrible day through my mind over and over and over again, trying to figure out if there was anything I could've possibly done differently to change the outcome.

I ran my hand through my dark brown hair messily, sucking in a breath as I heard the church doors click open and then shut behind me.

I turned my head, and watched as Natasha Kline slowly hopped down the front stairs of the church.

Her blonde curls bounced at she worked her way down the stairs, holding on tightly to the railing.

She looked drastically just like her brother. Big blue eyes, light blonde hair, porcelain skin and freckles.

While on the last step, she must've tripped on something because before I could blink she'd fallen down on her hands an knees.

I jumped up from the bench immediately, running to her side.

She pushed herself up, rubbing on her white tights, which I noticed now had small stains of brown on the knees.

"Mommy's gonna be so mad." She mumbled to herself, barely loud enough for me to hear as she continued to rub on the knees of her tights.

"Are you okay?" I asked cautiously as I fast walked up to her.

She froze, looking up quickly, her bright blue eyes connecting with my brown ones.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." I said quickly.

She pursed her lips, her head tilting curiously, "Who are you?"

I guessed she must've been maybe five years old.

I smiled kindly, "My name is Lexi."

She pushed herself up onto the step she tripped on, "Oh." She said, sticking her hand out in front of her for me to shake. "I'm Natasha, nice to meet you."

It took everything for me not to laugh at her formalness. She was so adorable.

I grabbed her small hand, shaking it gently, "Nice to meet you too, Natasha."
