With Lynnette's umbrella clutched tightly in my hand I walked along the path surrounded only by the pitter patter of the rain and my thoughts. Lynnette was so nice and sarcastic... she doesn't show it but I can tell she was thinking it. I felt myself blush... followed by a sigh. I liked Lynnette a lot; I developed these feeling not too long ago but once I accepted them they only have grown stronger. I never liked someone before I had always been the kid who had one or two friends I was the person you'd expect to turn into the extroverted next door neighbour that you secretly hated. But Lynnette well where do I start I just feel so much... happier and safe with her. I'll wait till we are really close them I'll ask her... but things aren't all that easy. I don't want to risk our friendship she is... my best friend I don't want to lose that. I can't lose that. So I'll just wait until I see some sign of hope.

I put my hand out to feel the rain. My hand was already drenched by a few seconds me putting it out into the open rain infested atmosphere. The rain was heavy and all but I liked it. I can imagine me and Lynnette under a umbrella in rain like that wouldn't that be romantic... ah I've become obsessed. Like an unhealthy obsession with another human being. She basically my second thought that's kind of sad... actually it's very sad. With my feelings all over the place like the passing raindrops I got home. "Hey dad..."
"Noah."
He didn't even take a second to look at me I started going upstairs. "You're recent maths test."
"Oh no..."
"Only 92% Noah I'm disappointed."
Disappointed in my best; me too. "I'm sorry."
"You should be, I tell everyone you're smart don't make me a liar you selfish boy."
"I'll try harder."
"You won't try you will do better."
At that point I just went upstairs. I was just a failure to him but it's ok I will have a bright future away from him, away from this town, but with Lynnette if everything goes right.
