The Time Before the Ball

[Tony POV]

A year I can't believe I endured that stupid ass school for a full year. It was terrible. No parties were allowed so it wouldn't interfere with finding your true soulmate and one's and two's weren't even allowed to talk (that rule was instated when someone informed the staff of the intercourse going on after hours) so there were multiple people who were basically eye fucking each other from across the room. Who didn't even know each others names.

I hadn't even met Thor's mysterious brother and I lived with the oaf for a year. Still all I knew about him was his name. Loki. It wasn't fair. He was probably a one and probably hot as hell, but I'll get to meet him tonight at the selection ball.

Oh how excited I am for that. Walking around for hours and choosing the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. Not stressful at all. I was excited yet nervous. The dorm was packed up. I already bought an apartment and furnished it from school. That's what we did the last two weeks of classes. Set up our lives for after we got out of school.

I ended up choosing a penthouse in New York City and furnished it with shades of gold and red (my favorite colors) with hints of silver and black because they were neutral colors that would balance the red and gold. But, my two would get an opinion if he didn't like it.

Yes. He. The one thing this stupid school did do was teach me that I am gay. Yes the infamous Tony Stark is gay G-A-Y gay. Just thought I should spell for those illiterate people out there.

Suddenly Thor entered our room in his white suit and red tie "Tony" he states "aren't you going to get ready for the ball. Tonight you'll meet your soulmate." I simply rolled my eyes, I knew that. It's all anyone had been talking about for weeks, but no I hadn't heard of it.

"Yeah I'll go put on my suit now" I walked toward my closet and grabbed the only thing still hanging in it. A hand tailored suit: grey jacket and pants, with a white dress shirt underneath, a red tie, and black dress shoes.

I am so ready for this ball. The entire room is going to swoon when they see me in this suit. Oh did I mention the pants are quite tight and quite sexy if I do say so myself.

[Loki POV]

Thank god tonight is the selection ball I'm not sure how much more of these imbeciles I can take. Most of them are annoying and just waiting for directions from their one, but I'm not going to get a soulmate so I'm not that concerned.

The only person I'll truly miss is Bucky. We had bonded over the course of the year and I would probably call him my best friend solely because no one else talked to me. We had ended up bonding over our love of drawing. Well more him being the model or watching me draw... said it reminded him of Steve.

He had told me much about Steve. Some of their crazy adventures and how he use to be very pale and skinny and get beat up a lot, but then over the course of a summer managed to get muscles and grow much taller.

I still wonder why Bucky got placed as a two. He seemed liked the perfect specimen for a one, but nicer. Maybe that's why. Or maybe he's submissive in bed, thank god I will never find out the answer to that.

I stalked over to my closet and retrieved the suit that I had gotten a week prior. It was completely black. Everything from the dress shirt to the tie and I loved it.

I put the suit on and turned to face myself in the mirror. I do have to say my ass looked good in this suit.

"Well damn, Loki." I glanced over to find none other than Bucky Barnes standing in the doorway wearing a classic black suit with a white dress shirt, but I was more surprised about his hair being pulled back into a man bun and it looked quite good.

"Well damn yourself, Barnes. You clean up nicely."

"I'm not sure that was a compliment or sarcasm, but with you is there really a difference?"

"Well Bucky I sure am going to miss these little banters of ours."

"Yeah hopefully our ones will be friends. That would be neat." I would hope so as well, but the likeliness of that happening is slim to none.

"Indeed. Well I'm gonna head to the ball and find a nice corner to hide in."

"You better talk to someone tonight, Odinson!" He yelled after me as I walked down the hall. I simply flipped him the bird in return and I heard his chuckle echo through the hall.
