Bee's POV
2008
"Hey, no running in the house!" I yell at the two 6 year olds.
"Sorry Mama!" My son says.
"It's alright Peter, how about you and Ned go to the living room? I put on The Empire Strikes Back." I say to my 6 year old. His face lights up and he takes off running again. "What did I say about running?!" I yell.
"Sorry Mama. C'mon Ned!" Just like that they are out of sight, in the living room of our small apartment.
I sigh and turn back to the house work. I take the sink plug and put it in the drain, then turn on the hot water, squirt some dish soap, then get my hands sudsy. After that I sweep the kitchen floor, mop, clean the counters, the stove, then finally the table. As I am putting dinner on my phone rings.
"Hello?" I question.
"Is this Miss Bee Parker?" A female voice asks on the other end.
"This is she. Who is this?"
"Oh Bee, it's me Pepper?"
"Tony's assistant?"
"Yeah. About-"
"Where is the old bastard anyway?"
"He, Mr. Stark is MIA."
"What do you mean MIA?"
"Missing in action Miss, he went over seas to promote his newest invention."
"The Jericho?"
"Thats the one."
"Is there a lead? Any proof that he is alive? Anything at all?" I am hysterical now.
"No I am sorry Miss." I drop my phone and fall to the ground.
Three Months Later
I can't stop smiling. Here I am on a tarmac awaiting the arrival of a plane. This is one very important plane though.
Peter is at Ned's place, his mom was more than happy to take care of him for a sleep over.
In the distance I see a big black blob, that is getting bigger every second. I start to shake with excitement. The plane lands and out comes the man of the hour, the man of the minute, the man of my heart.
"Bee?" I hear, my heart stops. But then, jumps back into service as my body starts to rush forward.
I am suddenly in his arms, breathing in his specific scent, all my worries about everything and anything wash away completely. I sigh.
"Tony." I breath in relief. He just holds me closer, mushing me against his chest.
------------
Me and Tony held each other close for a long time. Can you blame me? I thought my best friend was dead!
After a long and much needed embrace, we pulled away. His face looks so broken, I pull his head against mine. Our foreheads touching.
"I thought you had died." I whisper.
"I thought I did." He whispers back.
I wrap my arms around his neck and bury my head in his shoulder. His arms wrap around my waist. He snuggles his head against my other shoulder.
-----------
After that we got in a car the man named Happy was driving. Tony demanded a Cheeseburger instead of going to the hospital. Pepper told him he should go to the hospital first. They continued bickering, then they both turned to me for my input.
"If Tony wants a cheeseburger after being pronounced dead for 3 months, then who are we to stop him?" I say, "Hell, I would want to have my favorite meal and do something worth while if that had happened to me." Tony looks at me and nods.
Then he looks at Pepper, "See, she gets me." He says appreciative.
"Shes also biased, she has been your best friend forever, and the mother of your child." Pepper says.
He then looks at me. "By the way, how is small fry?" He asks.
"He's awesome, reminds me of you when we were little. He has a best friend named Ned, and he loves Star Wars." I wrap Peter up in a nutshell.
"Where is he now?" Tony asks again, worry all over his face.
I nod. "He is at Ned's house for the weekend, I'm supposed to be home Monday night."
"So you are here for four days?" He asks me.
"Yeah. I wanted enough time to actually be able to have a conversation with you about, things."
He nods. "The grown up talk? About our son?"
"That's the one."
-----------
"So", I say after Tony announced to the world he was cutting weapons productions for stark industries. He turns to me.
"So?" He questions. Looking at me expectantly.
"So, you just did a really grown up thing." I say.
"You think I did the wrong thing?"
"No, look. In my personal opinion, you did the right thing, every time I hear about a war, or new weapons, statistics. The point is, there is all the bad in the world and it breaks my heart, Peter, he doesn't know how messed up the world is and, maybe- maybe if you actually stop the manufacturing, he won't have to grow up, just to see how twisted reality is. Maybe, his children won't have to grow up to see the greatest, biggest war of them. If this doesn't stop then, there will be a World War III. So, in my mind Tony, you did the right thing." As I says this, I look deeply into his eyes.
He looks into my eyes just as deeply. "You always know just what to say when I am in self destruct mode Bee." He leans over and kisses me.
-------------
"Okay, just so you know, I am totally opposed to you living so far away, I insist, you and Peter, move in with me." Tony states as I am about to get on the plane back to Peter. I look at him skeptically. "Please." He begs. After I still don't budge. "It gets lonely with Jarvis and Pepper. So please, I really want to meet my son, please."
I nod. "Give me a week to get everything packed up." I say. Tony wraps me in a giant hug.
"Nonsense I will buy you everything you will need!" Tony says burring his head int my shoulder.
"Fine." I say.
"OK so go back grab Peter and hop back on the plane."
"No, give it a week, he needs to come to terms with it.It is a big move, alright?" I ask pulling his head back to look into his eyes. He nods.
"Fine." He sighs, "It better be a fast week, I have missed you, and want to meet small fry." I laugh.
"You are going to be fine, It is only a week." I tell him.
"Fine, but, you have to call me every night. Alright." He asks worriedly. I nod.
"Fine. But, not around Peter, it has to be a surprise for him. OK?"
"Alright, call when small fry is asleep." He pouts.
"I'll see you in a week?" I ask.
"Defiantly." He says then kisses me.
I turn and walk away.
