November 28th 1817

The last signs of the sun lined the horizon; such a warm beauty that depressed Cassandra yet made her smile all the same. She wished that she had been able to experience the true sight of the sun retiring for the day; all those lovely gold, pinks and reds. But Julius had warned her that that would be a horrible idea. Somehow, Cassandra didn’t believe it would harm her the way he said; it just didn’t strike fear in her the way it did in the other vampires. Yet for the sake of her lover’s fear, she remained prisoned to the dark without attempting an escape. This was all the sun he would allow her.

There was so much on her mind and it made her wonder if the sun was all that depressed her. It probably wasn’t considering all that was happening of late. She and Julius had had so many arguments that she had lost track on the significance. She did her best to stay out of his way and avoid him at all costs. If Julius could learn to trust her, whether as Amelia or Cassandra- as they were both one in the same, there would be no lewd air between them both. He’d even refused to hear her argument when she said that she didn’t trust his dear friend Abby and that there was something sinister about her. As far as he was concerned, Abigail was an angel that could not have the slightest evil thought. The memory of their last argument three months back came to her just then.

“Abigail and I have depended on each other so much in the past, why would she turn on me now?”

“I do not know the reason Julius but you are blinded by your history and fondness of her to such a high degree that you can not see her in any other way.”

“There is nothing left to see! You are being insecure and that is why you act this way!”

“Insecure?” She gasped in disbelief.

“And rather jealous if I may add. You have no reason to be and you fail to even invent one.”

“Oh please spear me this rubbish Julius! When you have learned to think beyond how much you still desire your cock wedged deep in her walls then seek me out! Until then, just leave me alone!”

Such anger that day, and she had stormed away consumed with her rage and without the sound of his voice beckoning her to stay. Amelia had sooth her with soft words and it truly felt as if her dainty hands made calming circles with her palm, against Cassandra’s back. It probably would have made the argument more believable if Cassandra could tell him what she saw that night in the gallery’s study, but Amelia would not let her. Telling Julius would mean Julius telling Abigail and once the Hag heard of it, she would know what Cassandra was. The circle of confusion made her exhausted. Now, she and Julius barely stayed in each other’s presence. When she returned to the Harem Chambers with the other women, he had not asked her to return to his bed; in fact he had called first for Elizabeth and shortly after, everyone was granted a turn in his bed. Everyone accept her of course, but to most of the women and their reaction to the matter, order had been restored. The taunting glares and mocking snares were bearable; it was knowing that Julius did this to punish her that hurt her so. Even now, as she watched stars wink back at her in the now darkened sky, he was wrapped around the curves of Elizabeth and probably Yara. Some nights his hunger was so insatiable that he called for four all at once. Amelia had said it was because he had taken on some of her attributes and acquired some of her sexual hunger as a succubus. Even she had sounded depressed upon admitting it.
