When you were seven
It was cute white dress that your mother made you wear, with her thumb she was smearing some of her lipstick to your cheeks and your lips.
At this age, you have no power to say no and just waited for your mother to explain what was happening.
She bought a small bouquet of flowers and a veil and you can see from the glint on her eye that she was both excited and happy.
Your dad was mumbling something while you board the bus. It was unclear what they were talking about but you were happy you were travelling with your family.
When you unboarded the bus, you were welcome by a lady same age with your mother. A toddler carried by a man who's beside her. That was the first time you saw Jungkook. He was three years old at that time wearing a red sweater and eating corndog.
"Is this Y/N? She's so pretty! She grew so fast!" You eyed her with curiosity, offering a shy smile when you heard the word pretty.
"Minah! You told me we would take pictures. How come Jungkook is wearing that!"
"I brought the tuxedo with me, don't worry."
You grab your mother's attention, "Mom why does he looked like a small bunny?"
Everyone heard and they laughed. The nickname for Jungkook sticks.
It was embedded in your memory forever. That day when your mother and her friend decided to orchestrate a fake wedding and how he became your first kiss.
You weren't able to forget because you saw the exhausted look on your father as your mother convinced him that it was cute and how it would be sweet that if ever you married Jungkook it the future all the guest would see that you have childhood photos being married as well.
Jungkook's family relocated at Seonchon, your hometown, during your fake wedding. You began to see each other weekly.
You never talked to each other that much but you learned to ride the bike together.
You were never touchy with each other but you learn how to swim together.
You never played together but the only time you did you discovered that Jungkook is a tattle tale when you broke their vase and he immediately called his mom.
You learn he was as close as having sibling— a little brother— in the form of Jungkook. Someone who bullies you in your bidding by acting like a helpless kid to make you give him the things he wants.
When you were twelve
They were sitting together with Jungkook greeting every visitor who entered the hall. His face was stoic and tired but he didn't falter.
When the you were alone, as your mother comforts Aunt Minah inside a room. You sat beside Jungkook in front of his father's coffin.
"Bunny— what happened?"
"He came home saying he had a headache and that he would like to sleep and rest. Mom asked me to call him for dinner. He didn't wake up." It must be the line he was saying to each of the symphatizers. He looks at the room where your mother and aunt is and smiled at you but deep inside you know he was worried for her mother who hasn't stopped crying since you've arrived.
You want to offer some comforting words but you know that nothing you can say could comfort him. Instead you held his hand tightly.
