This was our year
Our graduation.
But there is a story that needs to be told amongst us.
Life will hit us hard, there is no doubt about that.
But to those parents that will hold us back, stop.
Your child will make decisions that are hard. And some of those decisions they have to make on their own. This is not your life anymore.
Once you decide to tell your child to get a job and to leave, it is not your choice to make their decisions anymore.
Although they are still your child, they are not your adult.
Be thankful for those around you. And to the teens, thank the ones that raised you. And to those who weren't raised by anyone except yourself, I'm proud of you for making it his far. You've done yourself right in life and keep going.
Some of us are alone in this fight, and some of us have friends at our side.
For those friends I have, and for the person I love and hold most dear, thank you for keeping me alive long enough to see myself succeed. And long enough to find a will to live.
