Chapter 11-Burger King With The Pedo

I slid into a booth and looked up awkwardly at Chase. I was embarrassed for him. Burger King? For a date? How pathetic.

He looked up at the menu above the counter and smiled. "Thought this would make up for the whole girly bag incident. That was rude."

"Really? You think taking me to our local Burger King as a date would make up for something like that? No way Chase, I'm half tempted to walk out of here right now, but-"

"But you owe me. Two dates. Well, now that I think about it, you actually owe me three."

"What makes you think that?"

"Because you pantsed me at the mall."

"That was payback." I reply quickly and sharply.

"And so is this." He hid a small smirk and glanced back at the menu. "I'm thinking of a cheeseburger, what about you?"

"This is pathetic, Chase." I glare at him and crossed my arms.

"Don't worry, you have something else coming." He smirked at me.

Giving up, I throw my hands to my sides and we both order a cheeseburger and french fries and a tall chocolate milkshake.

"Listen, Rox,-"

"Don't call me that." I croak.

"Okay, um, look, you may think I hated you from the moment I laid eyes on you, but, really, I fell in love with you the moment I laid eyes on you. You might think I am pathetic and cheesy-"

"You got that right."

He ignored my comment and took my hands into his. "Roxy Gledwer, I am in love with you, and I don't care who knows it. I know I seem like the type of person who only wants girls for sex, to be honest I was, but, when you told me yesterday, that that's what you thought I wanted you for, I realized how stupid I really was. You, you taught me what true love is, true love isn't great sex, true love isn't making out in the hallway, true love is being with the one you love. I love you Roxy, you are my true love." He smiled.

I wanted to cry. He was an asshole, but what words just spew out of his mouth, were words that could make a woman's heart melt. I felt bad for him, though. Because I didn't love him back, I didn't share the same feelings for him.

I felt pressured to answer him right then and there, but luckily, our milkshakes were brought to us. Or milkshake. "For the lovely couple." Said the waitress and she went back behind the counter.

I half expected Chase to be smirking, but he too had a confused expression on his face. A large milkshake was placed in front of us and two straws hung out. "Um.." I began.

Chase immediately got up to ask the waitress for two separate milkshakes.

As he was gone, I sat there, stunned at what Chase had said. It was beautiful. Something I couldn't imaging coming out of Chase Hawkins mouth.

When he returned with both our milkshakes, our dinner arrived.

We ate in silence, we didn't even acknowledge each other existences.
