forty: real life

evelyn's pov:

i zippered up my suit case, just in time for rose to walk in my room.

"i don't want to get up at six in the morning," she whined, flopping onto my bed.

"well, it's a six hour flight, and i want to get there for most of the day. plus, they're three hours behind, meaning that it'll be nine when we get there."

"i bet they'll be sleeping." i laughed and jumped onto my bed next to her.

rose was sleeping over tonight so it would be easier to get to the airport. my mom was dropping us off and emma was picking us up, but dropping us off at our hotel. i was beyond excited for this trip.

rose and i couldn't fall asleep, and ended up pulling an all nighter, well at least until four in the morning, which is when we needed to leave.

i rolled out of bed, going to my vanity. i left a mascara out to use. i put it on, and then went to the bathroom to change. i wore a red tube top and white cargo shorts. believe it or not, i was comfortable. i put on an oversized jacket over it, just because it's cold in the morning in philadelphia.

rose got up and dressed in a sweatshirt and black shorts. she put on makeup and yawned. we both made our way downstairs, not eating anything because it was too early.

i put my headphones in, ready to take a long ass nap. before i did, i sent a photo in the groupchat of us on the plane, smiling.

when i woke up, the pilot was announcing that we were making our descent. i shook rose awake, and she gave me a death glare.

the plane landed smoothly, but my ears never had hurt more in my life. we made our way off of the plane, and i texted emma.

rose and i grabbed our suitcases off of the roller and as we turned, emma was sprinting towards us. we let go of our luggage and ran towards her, hugging. we swayed back and forth until too many people started staring.

the ride wasn't too long to our hotel, but we were still having a great time in the car. we said our 'see ya laters!' and walked inside to check in.

once we were in our room, i immediately texted in the group chat.
