Establishing The AU

Hey ya'll!

Thanks for checking out my story! I'm hoping to do daily updates to this as I'm having a lot of fun writing it! I don't often do Author Notes but since this is an AU I kinda need to clear up what's different in my universe from the canon story:

1) This book starts with Season 3 Episode 1 and will end with the Season 3 Finale.

2) Max and Lucas have broken up for good.

3) The timeline may be shaken up a little. While the order of canon events will stay the same there may be more or less time between them to allow my AU events to take place.

4) Things unrelated to Eleven or Max won't be included but they do happen. For example, the Scoop Squad infiltrating the Russian base, Nancy and Johnathan working their case in the Hawkins Post, etc. Even though this story will be in 3rd person it will only follow Max and Eleven so the reader will discover events at the same pace as them.

5) All the adults will refer to Eleven as her legal name (Jane), while the party (and the older teens) will refer to her as El/Eleven. This isn't a big detail but I just wanted to explain why there are inconsistencies with her name.

6) The Elmax stuff starts in Chapter 4, the rest is build up. Although it's essentially just how it is in the show I would recommend still reading it because it fills in some gaps and allows you to understand what Eleven and Max are thinking (e.g. What Max thinks of Mike and El's relationship, what they initially think of each other, etc).

I think that's about it! Anything else different will be explained throughout the story. If you have absolutely any points for improvement let me know!
