Chapter 16 - We'll Meet Again

Max and El were at the back of the group. They had positioned themselves there so that no one could see their hands intertwined, this plan could go terribly wrong and it was comforting to have the other there beside them. The plan was in motion, all they had to do was wait for Billy to step out of the shower. They listened and waited until it was time.

"Max, you're up", Mike whispered.

Max let go of El's hand and slowly crept out of their hiding space, into the changing rooms. She started opening and closing lockers, trying to make a believable ruckus.

"Pool's closed", she heard Billy say from the other room.

All she had to do was clang a locker shut once more and he flipped.

"Hey! Do you hear me?", they could hear him walking to the front door, "Pool is closed!"

Billy slammed against the front door, expecting it to open, but Lucas had already gone round and locked it. He started hitting the door furiously. Quickly, Mike managed to get the lights off and started taunting him through the radio, the sound would be playing on the dummy in the sauna.

"Billy!"

"Who's there?", he said as he slowly started walking towards the source of the sound.

"Billy!", he said again in a sing-song voice.

"Who's there?", Billy replied in the same jingle.

"Billy! Billy!"

Max had returned to the hiding spot behind an emergency exit door, Lucas met them there and they all crouched down, peaking out the window.

"You think this is funny huh?"

"Billy. Come and find me!"

"I find you, it is your funeral"

El moved to position herself at the front of the door, Max giving her a reassuring nod as she went. She was up next.

"Come and get me! Come on! Billy!"

Billy suddenly appeared at the end of the room, looking directly at the dummy in the sauna.

"Got you", Billy cackled and walked towards the door.

"Come and get me you piece of shit!"

Billy swung open the door and saw the dummy with the radio tapped to it and stepped inside the sauna. Meanwhile, El slowly crept out of the door and positioned herself behind Billy, being extra careful as to not alert him to her presence. Billy grabbed the doll by the neck and held it up to the ceiling in frustration. When Mike saw that El was in position he said,

"Hey. Behind you"

Billy turned around to see El almost directly behind him.

"Hi", she said before slamming him into the back of the sauna with only a flick of her head. He slammed against the back tiles, breaking many on impact.

"Now!", yelled Mike as he, Lucas, Will and Max burst through the door and turned on the lights.

El flicked her wrist and slammed the door shut as Mike secured it by slipping a pole between the handle and a pipe connected to the wall as Lucas and Will fastened a chain around it and locked it in place.

They all ran back to stand behind El as Billy pounded against the door, desperate to be free. Max was trembling, she wasn't sure how to feel about her step-brother being caged up like an animal. All she knew is that it didn't feel good.

Billy slowly stopped pounding and looked right at her, "Max..."

All eyes fell on Max. El had no idea what she was feeling but she looked shaken up for sure.
