[Song of the Chapter: 1950 by King Princess]
El woke up at six o'clock sharp the next morning. She carefully wiggled her way out from underneath Max's arm that was draped around her waist, got out of bed and got changed. She was careful not to wake up her girlfriend who was still fast asleep in the bed. She left her bedroom to find that Hop wasn't awake either so decided to fix her own breakfast. She opened up the fridge to find three new boxes of Eggos that Hopper must have bought yesterday. Attached to them was a note in her dad's handwriting, 'don't eat them all at once. If you keep eating them this fast the grocery store won't be able to stock them in fast enough to keep up'. She smiled and took out a box, enough for her and Max, and cooked them. She distributed them evenly between two plates and carefully carried them into her room, using her powers to open and close the door. She placed the plates on her dresser and knelt on the bed where Max was still sleeping peacefully, her hair slightly roughed up and her mouth slightly ajar as she took shallow breaths. El sat for a second to admire her, she was pretty, very pretty. She suddenly remembered why she was awake so early and so gently shook Max's arm in an attempt to wake her up.
"Max? Max wake up"
Max just groaned and rolled to face away from El.
"Max, wake up", El gently rubbed her arm.
Max mumbled something incoherent as she turned onto her back, her eyes still remaining shut. El shuffled closer to the sleeping girl and tapped her on the forehead.
"No", Max mumbled grumpily.
"No?", said El.
"No"
El wasn't taking no for an answer, she started furiously poking Max's stomach.
"Up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up", she started chanting.
Max rolled up into a fetal position and wrapped the blanket around her like a burrito. Eleven sighed and flicked her hand to the side, ripping the covers out of Max's hands and onto the floor. She finally conceded and looked up at El groggily.
"Hey!", she groaned.
"Good morning", El smiled.
"Bitch", Max mumbled closing her eyes again.
"Eggos", El said, thrusting the plate towards Max.
Max opened one eye and looked at the plate of Eggos in front of her.
"Okay good morning", she said as she grabbed the plate and sat up.
El smiled as she grabbed her own plate and tucked into her own breakfast.
"What time is it?", Max asked still half asleep.
"Six-three-zero", El said. There was no clock in her room but it had felt around thirty minutes since she woke up.
"Oh, you've got to be shitting me. Why are we up this early?"
"We need to find Billy"
"At six-thirty?"
"You said first thing"
"Okay, you've got me there. He's probably in his room at my house. We'll go check on him then go do something fun"
They finished up their Eggos and El went to write a note for Hopper (who was still asleep) in the kitchen while Max got changed in her room.
"Can I have a sleepover at your house tonight?", El yelled into her room just before she wrote the note.
Max hesitated for a second but yelled back, "yeah I think my parents are out so it should be okay"
El still wasn't sure why she couldn't stay at Max's house when her parents were there since Hopper let Max stay around theirs while he was there. She tried not to think about it too much and just wrote the note and stuck it to the fridge, 'gone to Maxs sleeping over - Jane'.
