Lucinda's P.O.V

I woke up the next morning next to Maddy. She was wearing cute PJ's wait a sec those are my PJ's . What happened yesterday? I figured out that I put my dad in jail, learned that he wants to burn me alive, we went to talk to him, and what did I do with Maddy.

I blushed I acted like a complete idiot straddling her and all. I would have really kissed her if she didn't stop me. I sat up. Today school starts again for me at least.

"Hey Maddy." I whispered shaking her awake.

She woke up "morning." 

We got ready for school and went down stairs.

"Hey baby girl."Cid said patting me on the head.

"Hey." I said

"Let's get breakfast."

We walked into the kitchen and I ate scrambled eggs and bacon.

"Time for school." Cid said handing me a backpack.

I hugged her "Thanks for being there." 

"Hey no problem just don't make it seem like your going to die cause there's going to be a lot of people that will miss you." She smiled

"See ya Hun." Rue said patting me on the head.

This home felt complete felt safe felt good nothing like I've ever felt before. 

"Let's go to school." Maddy said with a smile planted on her face.

"Yea." I said following her.

We walked out the door.

The closer we went to school I got more nervous. I might have to relearn stuff cause of the dent in my skull. What if I have to go back to kindergarten? I'd be a joke. We approached the doors and walked in.

We went to the front office too get my scheduled. 

"Oh my God your back." Mindy said to me

"Back off Mindy." Maddy growled.

"So your on her side now? Your a joke. I can't believe that your taking her side. She's the devil child."

I glared at her.

"See she's always glaring at people. She always wears all black. Does she still have that stupid sketch book?" Mindy asked

"No." I whispered

"Oh so you can talk for yourself I thought that you relied on Maddy to do the talking for you." Mindy said

A crowd started forming and people started whispering. 

'so she's back'

'Thought she wouldn't show her face'

' i heard she had a baby that's why she wasn't here'

'Really that slut'

'I thought god answered our prayers when she stopped coming to school'

Maddy held me close.

"I heard that you broke up with Peter to be with that slut." Mindy said

"I didn't break up with him to be with her I broke up with him cause he hurt my friend." she said

My eyes dropped to the floor to avoid making eye contact with anyone.

"Don't tell me the friend he hurt was her." She said pointing at me.
