The sewers had a stench of death and shit. No doubt there were some sort of creatures down here with me. It felt eerie once more and I could only hear the soft howl of the wind within the sewer lines and the occasional rustle from a raccoon or a rat. I trudged through the sewer water. I wish there was something dry to step on but I guess not. I kept my flashlight under my pistol as my dad had taught me along time ago. It was nerve racking but I kept pushing through the darkness. At this point the dark was sort of comforting in a way but also dangerous.

It had been hours, maybe a day since I woke up and this had all started. Now I was stuck in a fucking sewer line. I honestly didn't even have a clue as to where I was going, the sewer line was just one path that had a couple twists and turns. Finally the end of the sewer line came to, and I could finally breathe with a sigh of relief. There was a small pipe, just big enough to crawl through. The smell of death was getting worse almost to the point where I puked. Pushing through, I came to the end of the pipe and dropped down into what looked like an underground sewer construction site. The room was small and dark but there was a hallway that lead off to the left. I searched the room for a map or anything indicating where I was. On the wall near the entrance to the hallway was a map of the underground facility with a large 'x' mark saying, "You are here". The rest was scratched out or covered in dry blood. The batteries in my flashlight had died at this point, so I reached into one of the vest pockets and switched out the batteries with a set of spares that I had packed earlier.

As I had flicked the flashlight back on, I pointed the flashlight in the direction of the hallway and was startled when I saw a dark figure just duck behind the corner that lead into the dark hallway. I could hear the footsteps echo through the unfinished tunnels. I turned around the corner and aimed my gun... Nothing... Just a ladder leading to what i assumed as the surface. Slowly creeping down the hallway of blackness I listened carefully for anything. i reached the ladder and holstered my weapon and flashlight and climbed up the ladder. Once I reached the top I slowly and carefully lifted the manhole cover. All seemed clear so I slowly crawled out of the sewer and back onto the streets. I look around and see i'm back at the edge of the city once more. The other side was the edge where the forest and city once again met only this time not separated by suburbs. I looked over near the edge It was a long drop.. A large steep hill basically.  As i stood up I was knocked down onto my face before turning over to see what it was. It was was one of the normal man like creatures. He was about to attack me as I was drawing my gun to shoot but then he stopped and dropped dead, or so I thought. As I started to walk a large force that could only be one of the hell hounds hit me in the side, sending me flying off the side of the hill. I rolled out of control as I hit the ground over and over.

I was now laying on my back as a severe shock of pain was surging through my body from my side. Looking up the hell hound was already on its way down to come for me again. It reached me and picked me up by the throat before looking me in the eyes and throwing me down further into the forest below. After a few seconds I felt myself falling in the air as my body flipped over in the air, my leg hit a tree branch hard and broke. This slowed my fall a little bit. My body finally reached a side of a hill where I hit and started rolling down at the same time making my fall non lethal. As i lay there in severe pain and unable to move, I felt myself slowly fading in and out on consciousness. I could here the hell hounds wailing and screaming in the distance as I finally blacked out... To be continued... (Part 2 coming soon).
