ALEXA'S POV

“Al, please don't play with your food” my mom snaps me out my thoughts as I realize I've been tossing my rice here and there, “sorry” I say “is everything alright? you seem like you have a lot on your mind, are you okay?” my mom asks “yeah, no just thinking about my assignment” I say truthfully. “well, if you need any help, you can come to me” my mom says smiling “or me” my dad buts in “of course, thank you” I say, smiling back and we continue to eat our dinner in silence, not an awkward silence, oh definitely not an awkward one, just a comforting, relaxing silence.I was never the girl to ask help when I did my homework or need reminding to study for a test, I always did it on my own....

The next day...

I lay out all my supplies on my wood flooring, and then sit myself down while letting out a sigh. I scan my supplies and grab my huge card-sheet, I lay it open and grab my brush pen, and write “Animal Abuse” on the top, then I paste a bunch of pictures of animals who are brutally beaten and abuse, and I write and write and write....and guess what, I actually ended up crying just by looking at the pictures, so many dogs, cats, and other animals are brutally beaten, neglected, starved to death, just one word stays in my mind “WHY?”, once I am done with my assignment and done crying I roll the sheet neatly, putting it in the corner beside my bag,I go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, put my hair in a ponytail, then change in my fluffy teal onesie, I climb in my bed, turn on my alarm for 5:45, and then go to sleep, thanking God that I did my assignment....
