Aditya's POV-

I looked up at the rearview mirror to see police cars behind me, I pushed my foot down speeding down the road, when I looked up again I was sure I saw Zoya's car pulling up behind mine, before I knew it her car was beside mine, I rolled down my window "Zoya, what are you doing here" I shouted

Her eyes met mine but she didnt offer me a response, I watched her car slow down and return to being behind me. Then it clicked, she was helping me get away, willing to put her life at stake, it wasn't meant to be like this, I hated myself for all I had dragged her into.

I sped around the corner, ducking my head as a bullet smashed through the front screen, I looked across at the police car, the man dangled out of the passenger seat, a gun pointed my way, I weaved my car through some others in such speed that the bullet missed my car, instead it punctured the tyre of Zoya's car

The tyres of my car squealed, the back of my car skidding across the street in circles at the sudden impact of another oncoming police car. I gripped the steering wheel trying to stop my car from ramming into Zoya's, the last image I saw was her hands covering her face before her car flipped into the air, landing on its top and sliding across the ground as it hit into a tree

No longer worrying about the police, I brought my car to a halt, got out and ran towards Zoya's car. I pushed the seatbelt out of the way, pulling it out of the holder I picked up her body, dropping to my knees at the sight of her. Blood coated her usually glossy hair, blood dripped down her face, one of her eyes was already swollen shut. "Habibti, it's me"

She opened one eye slowly "Aditya" her voice was hoarse "You need to go"

I shook my head "I can't leave you like this" I looked up at her car, moving quickly to the side of the road as it burst into flames, I looked down at her body below mine, so fragile and so broken all because of me

She gasped for breath, gripping onto my collar as she coughed loudly, her breathing wheezy "Run" she closed her eyes tightly, lifting her body slightly, a lone tear rolled down her cheek

Seeing her in this much pain was killing me, I looked up at the police cars huddled together and I knew I had a choice to make, run and hope they found her or hand her over knowing I would get arrested. The choice was easy, I lifted her back into my arms and walked up to the centre of the road

Men with guns faced my way, then they were all lowered "He has my daughter, put the guns down" a man ran toward me, holding out his arms

I pressed my lips to hers before handing her over, her fingers still tight around my shirt, eyes glassy. Her father looked at me in confusion then stepped away

I was shoved to the ground, so much so I could taste the gravel in my mouth. My ribs ached, I heard the familiar sound of handcuffs clicking around my wrists, then I was pulled up by my hair, and led towards the nearest car. I couldn't take my eyes off of her now convulsing body, I took one look back as the car zoomed away

"You're gonna be in here for a long time son, though after saving the commisioners daughter, you may get a lesser sentence" some man joked, shoving me into a cell

I gripped the bars "Zoya, how is she" I watched the officers look at me in disbelief "Please I need to know"

"Who knows, she was in a pretty bad state when she arrived at the hospital" one officer shrugged "Get comfy, you may be here for a while"

I slid down the wall, resting my head in my hands, I knew I should have stayed away, all I had done was brought her pain, and now she may not live to see another day, all because she loved a monster like me enough to risk her life for me to escape

Waseem's POV-

Hours had passed since I had handed my daughter over to the hospital, though I couldn't forget the way that animal Aditya held her so carefully, kissed her and got himself given up just to save her, was he even capable of love?

I shook my head, standing up I paced up and down the corridor, Zoya needed to survive this, she had to, she deserved better than to die because of the events of today

"Commissioner" the doctor called "Zoya, she's out of danger now, but there's something you need to know, the baby, the baby didn't survive"

"Baby" I repeated "What b-" I stopped, it all made sense, that criminal had seduced my daughter into loving him and she had been pregnant with his baby, I fell back into the chair suddenly feeling dizzy

"There is one more thing sir, she came in with quite a severe head injury, when she wakes up, she may not be the same, we are just waiting for the x-ray results, then I can give you more information" he reached out a hand, rubbing my shoulder

"How, how far was she gone" I gulped

"Ten to twelve weeks, im sorry for your loss" he murmured before walking away

I bowed my head in pure disgust, Aditya would pay for this, I stood up, deciding I wanted to be the one to break the news

Aditya's POV-

I looked up to see Zoya's father walking to my cell "Zoya, is she okay"

He scowled at me "She's safe, the only reason I'm here is because if I were you, i'd want to know" he breathed heavily "The baby didn't make it"

"Baby, what baby"

"Don't act like you don't know, she was between ten to twelve weeks pregnant, clearly it was yours" he spat

I felt my knees wobble, "She lost the baby, our baby, our, it was all my, please I need to see her, i'll do anything" I begged

"You'll rot in here, where you belong and you will never see her again, you've done enough damage"

I smashed my hand into the wall "Damn it, I need to see her, you don't own her"

He smiled "But I do own you, while you're in my damn prison, I own you" he shook his head and walked away leaving me alone once agai

I know that this was meant to be out Wednesday, but I was so excited so had to put it up now, for once im really excited about where this story is going! There is a chance I may not be able to update for 2 weeks as I am away, so if you need me after Friday, contact me on social media instead:)
