6 - The 'Date'

Third Person P.O.V.

Lani had spent a good 4 - 5 hours reading when she then remembered that her and Tom were going out for dinner. She rushed into her room and rumaged around for something nice that she could wear. Come on Lani, it's just dinner..... Right? she thought as she was still struggling to find something. 

She had serious thoughts of talking to him and asking if they could cancel; but it was a bit late for that. After what seemed like hours - but was only 30 minutes - she settled on a red dress that had a black waist band. She put her hair into a braid and put on light makeup. By the time she had finished she heard a knock at her door.

"Who is it?" she asked still over the opposite end of the room.

"Its me.'' she recognized the voice of Elsa on the other side. She rushed to the other side and opened he door, greeting Elsa with a smile. She heard Elsa gasp and looked down at what she was wearing.

"It's too much isn't it?"

"Of course not! Its perfect! Tom's already waiting in the lounge room for you, hun. You guys have fun alright?" Else embraces Lani in a hug which Lani returns. 

"Thanks Elsa." Lani smiled and walked down the hall to the lounge room to meet with Tom.

Tom's P.O.V.

 So both Chris and Elsa knew about me taking Lani out for dinner. I stood in the lounge room with Chris wearing a black suit. I heard someone clear their throat and I turned to see Lani standing at the door.

"Wow.... you look beautiful." It was the truth. She looked stunning in the red dress that she was wearing. I then realized i was staring and looked around, trying to compose myself. I looked back at her once i had gathered up my courage once again. "Are you ready to go?" I held out my hand for her to take. She accepted with a smile and nodded her head.

"I am." Her silky voice replied. Chris cleared his throat which made us both turn to him.

"You guys have fun. We'll see you when we get back." Chris smiled as he spoke. Lani blushed and I nodded my head. We waved goodbye as they walked to wherever they were having dinner.

"Shall we go then, my lady?" She giggled and nodded her head. I smiled and held the door open for her. "After you."

"Such a gentleman." She quipped. I smiled at her as she walked past and shut the door as I walked out after her, making sure to lock it. We walked to my car and i held open the door for her to get in. "I can open my own door, Tom." She gave me an appreciative smile.

"I know." I shut her door when she got in and walked around to the driver seat and got in.

We drove to the restuarant that I had made a reservation for and I parked the car. I quickly got out and opened her door before she could say anything against it.

I took her hand as we walked in. "Do you have a reservation?" The maitre d' asked as we walked upto her.

''Yes, it should be under Hiddleston."

The woman smiled and motioned for us to follow her. She led us to a table in the back. I thanked her as she walked off and I held out Lani's chair for her.

------ 1 hour later -------

The night wasn't half bad. We both ordered the same thing - Curried Chicken with fried white rice - and spent the hour getting to know each other better. I found out her favorite animal was a lemur, her favorite season is Winter simply because she likes being able to rug up to keep warm and she likes Jazz, Country and Contemporary music, but she listens to just about anything. 

"Favorite Colour?'' I asked her. She looked deep in thought and then smiled.

"Orange or Green. I can never decide so I just say both." I chuckled and nodded my head.

"I've got one last thing to show you before we go." I said. I waved the waiter over and payed for the meal and gave them a tip as well. I then stood and held out my hand for her to take. She took it and I led her out to the car.

I drove towards one of the parks I go to whenever I plan to unwind from stressful events. I pulled the car to the curb and turned it off. This time she beat me to open her door and got out shooting me a smirk to which I smiled back.

"Come. I want to show you something." I held out my hand which she once again took a hold of and I led her to the lake in the centre of it. We sat down on the edge of the lake and watched the sun set. 

"This is beautiful. Thank you." She looked at me and smiled. A genuine smile. "But why did you bring me here?"

I looked at my hands and twiddled my thumbs a bit. How am I going to explain this? "Lani?"

"Yeah?"

"I.... um.... I" Come on man up and tell her already! "Your probably going to call me insane for this. But, I like you."

"I Like you to Tom. Your a great guy." She doesn't understand does she? 

I turn to face her and quickly lean forwards and capture her lips with mine. What are you doing!? This will only push her away! I was about to pull away when she started to kiss me back. I started to smile into the kiss. I slowly pulled back and watched her stay like she was with her eyes closed. I smiled as her eyes fluttered open.

"I love you, Lani. I know it has only been a few days but I can't stop thinking about you. I-" I was cut off when he lips met mine. She wrapped her arms around my neck as i wrapped my arms around her waist. I could feel her smile against my lips which made me smile. SCORE! I mentally slapped myself at that thought.

She pulled back and we just looked into each others eyes. "I love you too, Tom." I stood and swung her around a few times earning a few giggles on her behalf. When we came to a stand still i gave her another quick kiss.

"We better get back, otherwise Chris and Elsa will start to think the worst." She giggled and nodded her head in reply. 

The car drive home was made in a comfortable silence. When we got back she opened her door and got out once again beating me to it. "I'll let you do it sometimes. But I'm used to doing it myself." I smiled as we walked to the front door. 

"Thank you for tonight Tom. It was the best night of my life." She kissed my cheek lightly making me smile.

"It was my pleasure." We both walked through the door to be greeted by Chris and Elsa. I could tell by the look on Elsa's face that she knew exactly what had transpired on our 'date'.

Guess now comes the part where we have to tell them..... Wonder how they will take it?
