12 - Making It Through the Week Part 2: Wednesday

Lani's P.O.V.

Wednesday 15th February

Well this morning, I woke up to two things. One: the splitting headache i had from the drinking last night (Chris will kill me if he finds out so shhh) and Two: I had an arm wrapped around my waist. Yes an ARM! Ok so at first I had no idea whose arm it was or why they were even in the same bed as me... I don't even know how i got into bed! My guess would have been that someone carried me. I thought about several things when i heard a voice that i recognized. It was Tom's arm! Ok so I didnt feel so bad after that.

Both of us woke up with headaches. Tom was complaining more than I was and I'm the one who got stuck with 8 and 9 year olds.... oh how fun that was. Just about every sound they made was amplified and had me reeling. I definitely hope i was able to hide it from Sammy (who i should probably mention is the principal). She may be my best friend but if she found out i came to school hungover..... Boy oh boy..... Would I get a talkin' to.

Today was less eventful. We made it through every class without too much of a hassle until Lunch. Andrew and Matthew were are it again. Seriously? What is with those kids? I had it in my right mind to whack them over the head. Although that wouldn't have gone down well.... especially with their parents.

I ended up getting several texts, some from Tom, I got one from Chris, one from Monty and one from my mum. I should probably tell her that i'm back in Aussie for a few days..... 

During the lunch break, i texted back mum and told her that i can meet up with her tomorrow. I found out that Liam and Luke were going to be there. I told them i was bringing someone, i didn't tell them who and for the rest of the day i was bombarded with texts from mum, dad, Luke and Liam all wanting to know who it was that I was bringing along. I ended up turning my phone off.

Third Person P.O.V.

"Why didn't you pick up your damn phone!?" Tom yelled as she walked into the door.

"Nice to see you too Tom. I turned it off."

"Why?"

"I was getting bombarded by family. Oh by the way, you get to meet my other two brothers and my parents tomorrow." He looked at her for a moment. "That's ok right?"

"Of course! Can't wait darling." He walks forwards and embraces her in a hug which she returns. She visibly relaxes in his embrace. Hoping that when he does meet her family they won't be too embarrassing.

She gave him a kiss and she pulled away when she heard someone behind her clear their throat. She quickly turns. "Sammy! What are you doing here?"

"It's my house." Right, duh. Lani thought to herself. 

"Right. Tomorrow night we won't be here for dinner."

"Why is that?" Sammy raises an eyebrow at her.

"My parents invited me and Tom around to their place for dinner." Sammy nods.

"Well, you kids have fun." She smiles and places her set of keys on the table along with a newspaper and then walks into the kitchen putting the kettle on. 

About 10 minutes later the door opens and two energetic masses run in, still in their school uniforms. "Aunty Lani!" The combined voices of Ashton and Isabelle as they run to her.

"Hey Chipmunks. How was your day?" Lani asks as she crouches and hugs them.

"I lost a tooth" Isabelle states, opening her mouth and pointing to the now vacant spot in her mouth. "Look"

"So you did. What about you little man?"

"We had a stinkin' spelling test. I think i did alright in it." She ruffles his hair making him giggle.

"I'm sure you did fine. Mum's in the kitchen." They drop their schoolbags and run into the kitchen excitedly. Lani stands up and looks at Tom who is smiling. "What?"

"The kids sure love you." She smiles at him.

"Yeah, i love them too. I guess I've always loved kids, which is why i got the job as a teacher. That being said i don't think i could handle teenagers." 

"Why's that?"

"Have you seen the teenagers these days? They are scary things to have to see in their..... 'natural' environment. I prefer them when they are younger. They still have their innocence when their in primary school."

"I guess your right." Tom chuckles. 

"I know I'm right. Although I guess i can't really say anything because i was a bit of a reckless teenager." Tom raises an eyebrow at her. "What? I'm sure you were a reckless teenager. Remind me to ask Emma all about it when we get back." She smirks at him as his jaw drops.

"You wouldn't."

"Wanna bet?" She grabs her phone and unlocks it. Tom starts to move closer to her as she moves further away, still smirking.

"Give me the phone Lani." 

"How about. No." She giggles and looks for Chris's contact number. She hovers her thumb over the call button keeping her gaze on Tom as he walks closer. He has a playful scowl on his face. She giggles and presses her thumb to the phone screen and putting it to her ear. Tom lunges at her and she starts running down the hall with him close behind.

"Lani!" She squeals just as she hears someone pick up the phone on the other end.

"Lani?" Chris's voice answered on the other end.

"Hey Chris!" Tom stops dead in his tracks as she says her brothers name. She bursts into a fit of giggles at the face he makes.

"Is everything ok?"

"Oh yeah, everything is fine and dandy on this end. Isn't it Tom?" Tom nods his head a bit unsure. "he nodded." 

"Ok, why did you ring me?" 

"What, i can't ring my brother anytime i wish?"

"Well considering the time difference i would have expected a text first to say you were ringing." Lani's eyes went wide and she realized that it would have been early in the morning for them over there.

"Sorry Chris! But since i got you here. Tom and I are going to see the fam tomorrow night for dinner. Apparently Lukes going to be there too."

"Really? Well say hi to everyone for me."

"I will. Love ya."

"Love you too Lani." With that she hangs up the phone and laughs.

"I got you good Hiddleston." 

"Are we on a last name basis now, Hemsworth?" She glares at him playfully. 

"Oh well. You do realize i don't have your sister's number right? So how would I have been able to call her?" 

"I did not think of that." 

"Huh, I win." She smiles cheekily at him and they both walk out hand in hand to have dinner with Sammy and the kids.

A/N: Ok not too sure how this chapter sounded but it is done now too :) Anyway, What are your thoughts on Ashton and Isabelle? Hope you enjoyed this chapter :) Next chapter, Tom meets Lani's parents and other brothers.... how do you think that will go?
