it was already past midnight but i was still on the couch, sitting with a bowl of cheetos on my lap and two cans of coca cola in front of me with the tv remote beside it.

i actually thought that amazing breakfast would take off my mind about him, but guess i was wrong.  just as i entered the house after i left the coffee shop, i broke into tears again.

i am such a loser for falling into him deeper, without knowing that he wouldn't catch me. the fall was hard, hard enough to shatter my heart into the smallest pieces ever imaginable.

i was watching some random movie, one of jihyun's favorite kdramas actually. obviously, it was a love story but it had a little comedy so i enjoyed it.

"torri? why are you still up? why are you eating such unhealthy food? it's literally past midnight. go to sleep and stop eating that bowl of cheetos. also drop that can of coke." jihyun immediately scolded me when she entered the house, seeing me like that. it made her sound like a mom.

"chill, i just couldn't fall asleep." i told her.

"you think you could fall asleep like that? you could've listened to some classical, soft or mellow music." she said, scolding me even more.

"whatever, this movie is lit." i said before stuffing my mouth with a handful of cheetos.

i was about to lift the coca cola can into my mouth when jihyun's hands stopped it. "no, let go of me!" i yelled at her.

"no, you have to go to sleep early."

"and why? i don't go to school anymore."

"you have work."

"work? i have no job."

"i forgot to tell you that i applied for a new job where the pay is bigger. i had to since the pay in the coffee shop isn't enough for the both of us. so you're going to replace me."

i sighed, placing the bowl of cheetos and can of cola on the table as i shut the tv down and stood up to turn on the lights.

"okay, it's fine. hansoo seems like a good co-worker anyway."

"oh, no. hansoo won't be your co-worker. she left as well. someone new is going to replace her as well."

"well great." i said as i stomped my way to my bedroom. i was just not in a good mood thanks to you know who.

ㅡ ㅡ ㅡ

i woke up so early in the morning despite going to sleep very late. i immediately got off the bed after my alarm rang. i started to do my daily morning routine and prepared for my first day of work.

i don't know what happened to me but i got excited about the thought of working at the coffee shop.

the coffee shop had a very comfortable and warm atmosphere. the coffee was amazing too.

"you ready?" jihyun asked me as we both walked down the stairs.

i nodded with a smile on my face. i was excited indeed. she smiled back at me and patted my shoulder.

ㅡ ㅡ ㅡ

jihyun's new workplace was a bit far from the coffee shop and it made me kinda sad but it was okay. she said she could visit for lunch anyway.

i put on my apron and hair net then started to clean the whole place before it could open. my co-worker wasn't here yet, but as i waited for her or him, i practiced my introduction.

then suddenly, the wind chimes by the door chimed. it couldn't be a costumer, i haven't opened the place yet.

i slowly turned around with a smile on my face, and my eyes met someone else's.

he looked like he was just half korean. he was tall. he had skin so pale that he could play the role as a vampire. his hair was dark brown and it matched with his eyes with the same color. his lips were in a beautiful shade of pink and i envied him.

"h-hello." i cleared my throat after stuttering. "perhaps, you're my co-worker?"i spoke in fluent english.

"yes, i am. name's bang chan. you are?" he said as he reached his hand out for a handshake.

i looked at his hand and slowly shook it. "i'm torri park, you can call me tor."

"i'm sorry, i think i am five minutes late." chan said, apologizing when he saw the time on the wall clock and he immediately scratched his nape, letting go of my hand.

"no, no, it's okay." i said, shaking my head.

"i see that you have cleaned the whole place already. i'll just go prepare the coffee. i think we can open the store now?"

"yeah, i think the same."

i walked to the door and flipped the sign, making it say "open" in front. i turned around to face chan and gave him a thumbs up. he was already preparing the coffee machine so he just gave me a smile, a smile that made my heart skip a beat for some reason.
