It's Complicated

Comfortable silence

*Tobin's POV*

Others who were trying out along with a few current members of the team were at tryouts. Me and the others sat on the ground while Alex, ali, and Lindsey were standing in front of us. Alex was holding a clipboard with everyone's name on it so she could check to make sure we were all here. She goes through the list then sets it aside to talk to us.

"I'm Alex this is Ali and Lindsey they are already members of the team and will be assisting me with tryouts today"

Ali looked over to me and gave a smile while Lindsey shot me a dirty look. I tried not to look back at her because it was making me nervous.

I want you guys to run four laps around the field then you will come back and do stretches then we will move along

I was sitting next to a tan girl with dark brown hair and green eyes. I've seen her around school but I never talked to her before. She looked over and gave me a slight smile before turning her attention back to alex.

We get up and start the laps around the field. Then we continue on with everything doing drills and finishing with a scrimmage. Everyone was tired but hopeful by the time we were done.

"Ok everyone results will be up tomorrow on the gym door if you made it good job if not good effort but maybe next time" Alex said with her raspy voice

There was a scramble of people grabbing their stuff and talking to eachother. Before everyone left I stayed afterwards because Alex was my ride.

I went over and stood by the fence and started scrolling through my phone then I heard Ali's voice

"Ok we've got the results I'll put them up right now actually"

"I'm coming with you" lindsay said she knew I was still there and didn't want to be near me

Alex grabbed her bags then walked over to me

"You did great Tobin" she said with a big smile

"Thanks" I say looking down at the ground before I looked back up

I looked right up into her striking blue eyes everytime I looked in them I got butterflies

After making sure we got everything we left

On the ride home we talked about things and caught up. And when we weren't talking there was a comfortable silence. Honestly I was scared to be her friend again after what happened. But now things don't seem so bad I could get used to this.
