Come, sit down
Surely you want to stay a while

Sit and watch as we entertain you
As we slit out wrists and pour our blood into shiny silver goblets
And as we press lit cigarettes on our silky smooth skin
Funny, isn't it?

For that's why you are laughing
It is our job to give you something to laugh at
And when one of our actors swallows a bottle full of pill or ties a rope around his neck-
Is that the best part?

You don't notice the other actors off to the side
The middle aged couple with grey stripes in their hair
Bawling on our pristine floor
Or the police officer casually taking notes

No, you're just here for the main event
When our actors get the most attention
And you are happy to give it to them
For attention is the only thing that they want right?

You don't bother to realize that this, in fact, is not a show
That couple on the floor, their 17-year-old just killed herself
And that police officer, well, lets just say this isn't his first rodeo
No, this is not a show at all; this is real life
