A Fight From Death

The Water Mask

A couple hours since the aftermath of the Energy Mask and the two young knights were having a little trouble with where the mask was in the water. From what the map said; the Water Mask should be in the ocean between Ninjago and The Dark Island, but they just needed to get there.

The two were on the beach while River had to stay in the woods for personal reasons. The young knights found a near by boat and 'borrowed' it to get to their destination.

As the two were getting situated, Lloyd was beginning to ask questions, "What so we do once we get to the location? I know it's underwater, but how will we get down their?" The green knight asked as he started rowing the boat.

"Not we. Me Lloyd" Nya corrected, "I am able to hold my breath long enough to bring myself to the ocean floor with some air still left to come back to the surface." Lloyd looked at her confused, but just continued to row. The boat then came to stop with the area surrounding it was a darker color blue then the rest of the ocean. 

Nya started taking off her armor and gi leaving with her only in her booty shorts and sports bra. The green knights eyes opened wide as he looked at Nya and turned to look the other way, "You're not going in your gi?" He asked as if it was between life or death. 

The gray knight looked back at Lloyd who was scared to death, "You do know I trained with only this on before we got our gi's right?" She told her young teammate. 

The gray knight took a deep breath and dived right in the water giving no warning to the Master of Energy whatsoever. The Master of Water swam down to the deepest part of the dark ocean as she couldn't see a thing and had to use her instincts. Using her hands, she felt a hard surface giving her a clue she was at the bottom. 

She searched and searched as her breath was being wasted and needed air until she saw a beam of light coming from a nearby cave. Nya swam over to her only source of light and inside the cave to see an object floating in the water. The object was a mask; it was shaped as phoenix  and was marron with blue details engraved on the outsides of what looks like feathers. The knight in gray placed her hands on the mask only to make the room go dark. 

From what Nya could still see, bubbles were starting to form from the far side of the cave to revel big green eyes. Nya swam from the creature with the mask still in her possession with it following right behind. She heard a roar from underneath her as she let out a yelp getting some water in her mouth. 

The Master of Water swam to the light known as the surface where air was given, but the creature caught on her foot making Nya scream in pain. She noticed that that was where more of her black veins went; the creature was keeping her down there cause it knows about the disease. Then something green hit the creature making it let go off Nya and something from behind her grabbed he by her waist and pulled the knight up to the surface. 

Nya was lifted up to the boat and coughed up some water that was caught in her throat. "What happened down there?" Someone asked. 

The gray knight looked up to see Lloyd soaked in water, "I thought I told you to stay up on the boat" Nya said with a stern voice. 

"I was, but then I saw black veins on your arms and legs before you jumped in. What was worse that you almost died in the hands of the monster cause it was trying to prevent you from coming to the Overlord" Lloyd said disappointed as he handed Nya her gi, "Why didn't you tell me or the team?" 

"I don't have to explain myself to you" Nya hissed. 

"Yes you do! We could've helped you and went a lot faster if we knew" Lloyd yelled, "Is that why Jay was so protective of you during the trip?" 

Nya's vision started to blur giving her the hint she was about to cry, "I didn't want y'all to get hurt" she whimpered. 

The gray knight started dressing herself as she waited for Lloyd's response, "What stage are you on?" He finally asked. 

The raven haired girl sighed, "The voices" She answered. 

Lloyd looked at the dark island and then back at Nya, "Then I guess we need to find the others then" He said as he sat down. 

"You won't tell the others will you?" Nya asked. 

"I won't only if and ONLY if you tell me anything that deals with the disease" Lloyd said.

"Fine, but why my symptoms?" Nya asked. 

"Just in case you turn before we defeat the Overlord. I don't want to fight one of my best friends in the battle they should be fighting  with us" Lloyd explained. Nya only nodded and looked at the mask she retrieved from the cave. Did the monster really wanted to keep her down there so she didn't get to the Overlord? Was it trying to protect Ninjago from her? 

"So where should we go to look for the others?" Lloyd asked. Nya thought back to where she had her hands on the full map before it was destroyed, and how the farthest one was the Mask of Fire. 

"The Fire Temple"
