Andy's P. O. V.

I got woken up by Rye lightly nudging my arm.

"Andy we need to get up for school" he whispered.

I held up my hand as a way of saying "give me a minute". I felt the mattress of the bed raise slightly as Rye stood up to get dressed.

I rubbed my eyes and forced myself to sit up. Rye had already put on his jeans and was now putting on a shirt.

"Oh look. Sleeping Beauty decided to wake up" he mocked with a smile on his face.

I was about to give him a snarly response, but then I remembered our deal from last night and decided to keep my opinion on his nickname to myself.

"Hey can I have another one of those crackers?" I asked as I picked a new shirt out of my suitcase.

"Nope. Those are emergency only. Plus, they're mine. You can get your own" he replied bluntly.

"Where am I going to find the money to pay for my own food" I whined.

"Here's a crazy idea. You could get a job" Rye replied dryly.

"While you can afford loads of goods with that fancy creditcard your parents gave you" I sneered.

Rye's eyes showed hurt for a split second, but then turned back to their normal expression. "Just for the record I actually have a job you know" he said.

"Really? What do you do? Babysit?" I asked and laughed at the thought of Rye failing horribly at taking care of a screeching toddler.

"I wait tables" Rye replied.

"Oh, cool, does it pay well?" I asked. I didn't know why I was suddenly interested in Ryans life, but oh well, it was part of becoming friends probably.

"It pays pretty bad to be honest" Rye shrugged and scratched his neck.

"oh okay" I hummed. And so the conversation ended.

We waited for Mikey and went downstairs. Just as we were about to leave the building a shout could be heard over every other voice in the crowded lobby.

"ANDY!?"

I turned around and saw Jack walking towards me fast paced with a pissed of look on his face.

"Oh shit" I mumbled.

"Are you crazy? Have you actually lost your mind?" he roared.

"Look Jack I can explain" I said quietly looking frantically at the people staring at us.

"You litterally disappeared! No one knew where you went. Your mother is worried. I had no idea where you were" Jack went on.

"Jack can we please talk in private" I spoke up and he shut his mouth.

"Fine" he hissed trough gritted teeth, still seething with anger as I dragged him out of the lobby to an empty bathroom stall.

"Now explain why you ran off" Jack demanded.

"My mother lied to me-" I started but got cut off by Jack interrupting me.

"What could she possibly lie about that makes you want to run away" He threw his arms in the air to emphasize how ridiculous that statement sounded to him.

"Is hiding away the fact that my father was alive all this time reason enough?" I asked sarcastically.

Jacks eyes widened. "Your father is alive?" he covered his mouth in shock.

I nodded. "She has been sending him emails. I need to track him down and tell him he has a family" I said.

Jack sighed and shook his head. "That's a bad idea" he said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Just think Andy. You barely know anything about him. How were you planning on tracking him down" he retorted.

"Yeah but I did research. He has an enormous company and-"

"And even if you find him. What do you think will happen? He isn't just going to pick up his duties as a father and embrace his family. It doesn't work that way. Life isn't a fairytale" Jack cut me off.

"I know life isn't a fairytale. Otherwise the Tokyo Hotel wouldn't exist" I said.

"Correct. But only complete morons go there out of free will" Jack sneered.

"Look I'm sorry Jack, but I want to pursue this okay? So please don't tell my mother where I am" I sighed.

"Fine, but I don't agree with what you're doing. I think you're making a big mistake" Jack sighed.

"Since you don't have anything good to say about it, I have to leave for school" I said.

"Andy, that doesn't mean I won't help you. I'm still your best friend after all" Jack put a hand on my shoulder and gave me a small smile.

"Thanks" I mumbled.

I went back to Rye and Mikey, who - to my suprise- waited for me outside.

"Who was that? He seemed pretty pissed" Rye said.

"He's a friend" I bluntly replied.

"Jack Duff" Mikey added.

I looked at Mikey in suprise. "I didn't know you knew Jack" I remarked.

"Oh, well... He lives in the Tokyo Hotel, I live in the Tokyo Hotel. You just know those things" Mikey replied, but he didn't seem genuine. Was he holding something back?

"Did you ever talk to him?" I asked.

"I have, in the past" he responded.

"Not anymore then? Why?" Rye asked.

"Can we please talk about something else?" Mikey snapped.

"Okay chill" Rye muttered holding his hands up.

Mikey sighed and sped up his pace, walking slightly ahead of us. Rye and I stared at Mikey in confusion.

"Did Jack ever mension Mikey?" Rye whispered to me.

I shook my head. "Not even once, but Mikey doesn't seem comfortable talking about it. Something must've happened" I whispered back.

Rye nodded in agreement.

What happened between them?
