I stood by my locker waiting for Lauren and Eliza, both were meant to be here by now but I took a not so wild guess that they were running late. I slipped my phone out and scrolled through my endless Instagram feed, a couple notifications began to appear that mentioned I was being tagged in photos and such.

An abrupt hand on my shoulder made me turn my head in surprise and I let out a breath I held in as I realised it was Zane, "Don't do that."

He smirked, "Sorry I didn't know you were scared so easily." I slapped his chest softly and his body vibrated with laughter before his features turned serious.

"Well, Nathan will cross the gates in an R 1200 RS in about 5 minutes so if you want to watch his proper welcome then you should wait."

I exhaled in annoyance, "Alright."

"What's wrong?" he asked lifting a brow.

"Nothing, dismissed," I nodded my head as I replied before parting ways with him and walking at an even pace towards the main entrance of the school.

Northview Valley Highschool had two classes that divided the student body from the first day they walked through the halls until the last tick of the clock on graduation. Everyone knew this and had one week to decide which one they would land in; inferiors or elites. After the week was done a note was slipped into their locker to validate the choice, and those notes were given to me, at least, this year they were.

I leaned on one of the pillars outside the school and checked the time on my phone which displayed 7:24. As I got distracted with some poems I had written in my notes, I heard a loud roar of an engine and I looked up to be met by a small crowd that was separated into smaller ones and a motorbike being parked in one of the spots not too far from the entrance.

How typical, I thought.

Two figures approached me from my side and I twisted my head and found Tyler accompanied by Lauren trailing behind him. I gave them a small smile before pushing myself off the pillar and joining them towards the doors.

Lauren shifted uncomfortably and from my peripheral vision, I saw Tyler's jaw clench and his eyes roll.

"Where's Eliza?"

"You should ask her boyfriend that," Tyler's eyes moved before his head and Lauren and I turned to where he was watching.

My eyes zoned in on the scene before me, Eliza was talking to Nathan with a bright smile on her face which he returned as they walked towards us. His bag was slung onto one shoulder and Eliza held her books tightly against her chest, the whole sight could have literally been ripped out of a cheesy romance with slow-motion effects and glitter.

"Looks like she caught a ride with him," I said.

"You could also say she had a ride on him," Lauren snickered and I let out a stifled laugh.
