The vibrations of the club's music travelled along my body and flowed through with the beats. My heart raced in my chest as I got closer to the doorway and the bouncer who barricaded the door for any unauthorised entrance.
I gave one look at him and his face went pale as snow, the lump in his throat long gone as he stepped sideways and let me through. Scream and shouts erupted from the endless line behind me and I watched the crowd form around the bouncer as he attempted to maintain control.
The music coursed through my body and I welcomed the beats and the stench of alcohol that lingered in the sweaty atmosphere. Bodies were connecting in the middle of the crowd and I tried my best to keep my head up and walk to the private lounge and not join the large throng of dancers.
The VIP room had its own bar and its own music, it was rare for us to even get in here unless Tyler's dad approved of the 'business' we had to do.
I walked up to the counter and ordered a shot of vodka from the bartender the moment I found that I was the first to arrive in the room. The others are most likely on the first floor, dancing their little hearts out and having more fun than I am.
Suddenly, the door was thrown open by a drunken Lauren and a disapproved Tyler, who was followed by Eliza who was shaking violently at the doorstep and of course Zane.
I gestured for them to sit as I now twirled a glass of champagne in my hands, "Late?"
Eliza slumped down, "We were trying to have fun!"
"You clearly do not understand how important this meeting is, for you and your status," I seethed and crossed my legs, leaning onto the marble counter and looking down at her in the lounge.
"Oh, Miss I'm-A-Princess is becoming annoyed, last time I checked my status is much better than yours."
"Don't throw praise where it shouldn't be thrown," I stood up and sauntered calmly towards her, stepping down the steps towards the circular lounge. "Eliza, if you don't want to be bashed around black and blue, then I suggest you shut that cheap mouth of yours."
"You're cheap, ruling over the school with your minions by your side with no explanation besides four rules," her glossed over eyes threw daggers at me and from her words I knew she was drunk. "Two classes, and a stupid pact. Where did all this even come from may I ask, Amber Bronzyn."
I stood still, coating my surprise with a steady glare. Not because she seethed my name in so much distaste that there could be another possible reason why she didn't like me. It was due to her knowledge about the pact.
"There isn't a pact, if there was, we would have told you," Zane intervened.
"I'm a flimsy recruit."
"Speak like that and you'll stay one," Tyler scoffed as he held a shot glass in his hand.
"I can speak to you however I want, thank you." She seethed, "I don't understand how you'd go great extents for a school hierarchy."
